The Adult Psychiatry Area of Operations (VO) in Lund, with approximately 570 employees, is a university hospital unit characterized by diversity and high competence, with close ties to research and teaching. We are constantly working to improve and develop specialist psychiatric care, and several research and development projects are currently underway. The psychosis care within VO Adult Psychiatry Lund consists of two psychosis clinics, a psychiatric intensive care unit (PIVA) with 16 beds (3 for PIVA and 13 for psychosis), and Psychosis Ward 3 with 16 beds.

Adult Psychiatry Ward 1 is a locked inpatient unit whose mission is to investigate, diagnose, and treat patients with psychotic illness. Depending on bed availability, other diagnoses from the general psychiatry spectrum may also be treated. PIVA is a unit with 3 beds for psychiatric intensive care.

We work in multidisciplinary teams consisting of specialist doctors, resident doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, care assistants, occupational therapists, and medical secretaries. Physiotherapy is available on a consultancy basis. Teamwork is important, and we are driven by Region Skåne's values: welcoming, driving, caring, and respectful, which permeate our daily work.

We work with the patient in focus and contribute to a good working environment. Furthermore, we offer close leadership and collaboration with other specialist psychiatric units, which we see as a strength and an asset for both employees and patients. The unit is led by a unit manager. Psychosis teams in inpatient and outpatient care collaborate closely, with joint forums for complex and inpatient cases. Outpatient units work based on the FACT model. Currently, there are nine specialist doctors/senior consultants within the psychosis area.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Consultant (Overläkare) for our Adult Psychiatry Ward 1/PIVA. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop the future of specialist psychiatry with a focus on psychosis care in a multidisciplinary setting.

Together with the team, you are responsible for patient care and lead the work with investigation, diagnosis, and treatment. The role involves close collaboration with care and housing units within the nine municipalities in southern Scania that fall within our catchment area. You will participate in teaching and lecture activities directed at students, staff, patients, and relatives. The position includes on-call duties for the area of operations.

Qualifications

You are a licensed physician with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have specialist competence in psychiatry. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You must have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

For employment as a Senior Consultant, you must also have:

• Full-time employment for at least three years (documented effective time)
• Clinical skill and independence within psychiatry
• A defined medical responsibility and knowledge area
• Documented teaching and supervision merits

At a university hospital unit, physicians are required to have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervising nursing and medical students, as well as doctors in training, and as a co-supervisor or main supervisor for doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience of supervision and teaching at different levels.
