Make a difference. Every day.

The Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is one of Sweden's leading providers of spinal cord injury care and rehabilitation. We have been entrusted by the National Board of Health and Welfare to operate as one of four nationally highly specialized units, and we have expanded our operations to accommodate more patients from a larger part of the country.

We are now looking for a psychologist for a position distributed across our units in Lund and at Orupssjukhuset Höör, targeting adults in need of highly specialized rehabilitation. We work with interdisciplinary and internationally accredited assessment and rehabilitation. We see patients who have suffered a spinal cord injury or other injuries, such as acquired brain injury, due to trauma or illness. Patients come to us for help becoming independent under new life circumstances. The goal of rehabilitation is for the individual to become as active and independent as possible while fulfilling their goals in family life, work, and leisure.

Teamwork is a prerequisite for our work, and different professional groups meet regularly to discuss current goals and the progress of rehabilitation together with the patient. Our interdisciplinary teams consist of physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, speech therapists, and others, depending on the patient's individual needs.

For many years, we have worked systematically with quality through the international accreditation organization Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which places high demands on routines and improvement work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to support people through one of life's biggest transitions? We are looking for a psychologist who wants to work closely with patients and teams in a meaningful rehabilitation process.

The position is distributed between the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in Lund and the Spinal Cord Injury Department at Orupssjukhuset in Höör. The departments collaborate closely. The work includes psychological assessments, planning, and implementation of rehabilitation interventions, which may involve providing support, counseling, psychoeducation, and psychological treatment as part of the rehabilitation process. As some patients have cognitive impairments, there is sometimes a need for neuropsychological assessments.

You collaborate with patients, their networks, and the team to provide each patient with the best possible rehabilitation. You also contribute your psychological expertise to the team in each individual patient case, to educate within the unit, and to support the team with counseling and consultative support when needed.

We value both individual development opportunities and the development and continuous improvement of the operations, which is a natural part of your work.

There are several psychologists within rehabilitation medicine. You will be offered an introduction tailored to your individual needs as well as collegial support.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you if you are a licensed psychologist with eligibility to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at a minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. Experience in teamwork and rehabilitation is meritorious. Furthermore, experience or interest in neuropsychological assessments and meeting people in crisis is an advantage.

As a person, you are engaged, communicative, and have a good ability to work both independently and in a team with the patient in focus. Furthermore, you have an interest in staying updated regarding research and new knowledge within the rehabilitation field. Personal suitability is given great weight.

This recruitment applies rolling selection. We warmly welcome your application today; we look forward to getting to know you!
