Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually adapted involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS Youth Home Råby receives both girls and boys. We have both closed and open places for closed youth care as well as treatment places for young people placed under the Law of Care of Young Persons (LVU).

Job Description

We are looking for you who want to make a difference in the students' lifelong learning and who have a positive outlook and strong belief in the students' abilities.

SiS Youth Home Råby receives boys and girls from all over the country aged 15–21. We run school year-round with students in both compulsory school and upper secondary school, and we may also have students from adapted school forms. Teaching takes place in small groups. The work is based on individual needs and prerequisites, and it is important to build relationships that make the students feel safe at school. The assignment also includes investigating and mapping the students' knowledge level, school history, and the presence of specific learning difficulties. You work in a team with psychologists and treatment staff and also have contact with the student's parents, home schools, and social services.

The duties include planning, teaching, assessment, and mentoring. Your work is well anchored in curricula and grading criteria.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Teacher certification
• Qualification to teach Natural Science
• Ability to plan and teach, as well as follow up on your teaching

Meritorious

• Combination with another subject, preferably Biology and/or Physical Education.
• Experience working with students who need special support and institutional care.

• Have a great interest in working with people.
• Have good communication and collaboration skills with students, colleagues, and other professions.
• Be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
• Have a good attitude and be easy to create good relationships.
• Have the ability to be secure, stable, and calm even in stressful situations.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.

The employment is a holiday service position.

The position may be placed in a security class, which means that a security investigation with register check must be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
