Stockholm – our capital city of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Bromma City District Administration offers you a workplace where your efforts can truly make a difference and contribute to the community benefit in a growing district. Here, active employee participation and clear leadership form the foundation for a developing operation.
What we offer
Do YOU want to drive quality care work with a focus on a professional approach and perspective within LSS (The Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments)? Are you a reliable support assistant who wants to contribute to creating health and has a high commitment to the target group? Do you want to work with us to take dreams seriously? Then YOU might be the person we are looking for!
We are looking for several support assistants for a new group home opening this autumn. You will belong to the Personal Support Unit, which in turn belongs to the Social Services and Leisure Department, Bromma City District Administration. In the group homes, adults with various disabilities live. We offer individually adapted support based on the residents' wishes, needs, and opportunities. The operations are based on respect, security, and participation, starting from LSS, the Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments. The operation is located in Bromma, within walking distance to public transport. You will work scheduled hours during the day/evening/weekends on weekdays as well as Sundays and holidays. The position includes sleeping on-call duty at the workplace. The schedule may change based on the needs of the operation.
Your role
As a support assistant with us, you are an important part of our work to actively contribute to the residents feeling safe, seen, included, appreciated, and important. By being curious and attentive to the resident's needs, abilities, and dreams, you create health together with your colleagues and manager. This is fundamental to the salutogenic approach upon which our operations are built. We work with the KOMPASS method in all our operations. As a support assistant, you work to provide support and service to the residents in their own homes and to create meaningful leisure time. The support includes, among other things, personal care and common daily tasks found in a home. The work involves maintaining ongoing digital documentation in ParaSoL, and you must ensure that important information is reported further.
You work in accordance with the operation's agreed routines, action plans, and schedules.
We are looking for you who:
- Have experience working with the target group
- Have experience working with people with various disabilities such as intellectual disability and autism
- Have good collaboration skills for a well-functioning cooperation with users, colleagues, and partners
- Have a clear, motivating, and encouraging approach
- Have a good fundamental view of humanity and can see the interest and ability of each individual
- Are flexible
- Are secure and stable in your professional role, able to maintain calm in challenging situations
- Work in a low-affective manner in your interactions
- Enjoy working both independently and in a team, are non-hierarchical, and always have the user's best interest as the starting point.
- Master the Swedish language with good quality, which is important in communication with residents, documentation, and cooperation with colleagues and external contacts.
To work with us, it is a prerequisite that you have an interest, a will, and an ability to meet our users every day.
Your competence and experience
You need for the position:
- Nurse assistant education or other upper secondary education with a focus on care and support that can be deemed equivalent
- Good knowledge of and experience with people with functional variations such as developmental disabilities and neuropsychiatric disabilities, e.g., autism.
- Experience with LSS and knowledge of working with a low-affective approach linked to our pedagogical framework.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.
- Good computer skills and experience with social documentation
Other
We consider the following to be meritorious:
- Knowledge of Sign Language as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (TAKK)
- Knowledge of alternative communication, for example, pictorial support
- Experience working with challenging behaviors
- Experience handling various technical aids
- Category B driver's license
The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at seeing each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
In the event of an interview, please bring a Swedish/EU/EEA ID document or passport, as well as relevant original documents for the position, educational certificates/diplomas, any issued professional license, certificate, or work permit.
To work for the City of Stockholm with children, young people, the elderly, and people with disabilities, including work in their homes, you must show an extract from the Police's criminal record and suspicion register. For work with LSS interventions for children with disabilities, you must submit an extract from the Police's criminal record register. You order the extract yourself, and it must not be older than six months, or one year for work with children, from the date of issue.
Open to all
We focus on your competence, not your other prerequisites. We are open to adapting the role or workplace to your needs.
