Your Responsibilities

As a teacher of Swedish as a Second Language at LinVux, you have a varied and meaningful role where you meet adult students at different stages of their education. You plan, teach, and evaluate courses at the upper secondary level based on current regulatory documents and curricula.

The role includes:

• Conducting teaching in Swedish as a Second Language, where some courses are delivered online via our digital learning platform.
• Ensuring the integration of Swedish language instruction into healthcare subjects for students enrolled in the Healthcare and Care program.
• Teaching within the municipality's commissioned training programs (e.g., documentation, core values, and language-developing work) on behalf of the Healthcare and Care Administration.
• Creating a challenging, varied, and digitally advanced learning environment adapted to the student group you encounter.
• Contributing to strong collegial collaboration by actively sharing experiences, reflecting, and working together in subject and work teams.

Depending on your qualifications, the role may, in addition to teaching SVA, include teaching in Social Studies at the upper secondary level and Natural Science subjects at the primary school level within the adapted adult education program.

Your Workplace

LinVux is the municipality's adult education center, operated in-house. We provide education for adults in upper secondary and basic courses, as well as Swedish for Immigrants (SFI). From autumn 2026, we will primarily be located at two different addresses: Mjärdevi and Anders Ljungstedt Gymnasium. The placement for this position is Mjärdevi. Our educational programs have their method exercises at Linnégymnasiet, which means you will also teach on-site at Linnégymnasiet's premises to some extent. At LinVux, approximately 120 employees work, and we have over 2,000 students at all levels and study formats.

At LinVux, we always focus on the student, among other things by consistently providing support to our students throughout their education. Our students study both on-site and online. We start new courses every tenth week, which means that during an academic year with us, you will meet many student groups on different courses. A class may consist of approximately 10–32 students.

As a teacher at LinVux, there is a strong focus on having a holistic view of the student's learning in collaboration with colleagues and other relevant functions. We collaborate closely in subject and work teams, and we often rotate responsibility for courses. You will collaborate closely with the work team on the Healthcare and Care program. At LinVux, we are looking for you who thrive in a changing environment and who want to work closely with students.

About You

We primarily seek you who have a teaching license with qualification to teach Swedish as a Second Language at the upper secondary level. In the second instance, we seek you with a completed teacher education for upper secondary school. Alternatively, you are at the end of your teacher education for upper secondary school. It is meritorious if you have qualifications in Social Studies at the upper secondary level and qualifications in Natural Science subjects for grades 7–9.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-guided school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught at an upper secondary school or at Komvux (Adult Education) for at least one academic year, and if you have experience with grading.

In your role as a teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum, you should organize and carry out work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You are flexible and have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning, and you document this. You collaborate well with colleagues and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
