About the client and workplace:

We are currently looking for a personal assistant for a teenage boy living in Uppsala. He has autism and an intellectual disability and requires personal assistance to manage his daily life.

The client has a great need for clarity, routines, and the presence of adults around him. He has limited communication skills and needs help understanding and handling various situations in daily life. When situations become unclear, stressful, or demanding, he may become frustrated and act out. Therefore, the work requires you to be calm, secure, and able to maintain focus even when situations become challenging.

As a personal assistant, you will become an important part of creating a safe, functional, and active daily life. Duties include, among other things, help with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, meals, communication, activation, and outdoor activities. The client requires significant presence and cannot be left alone.

At Hjelpa, assistance is always tailored to the individual's needs, which means that tasks may vary and that you, as an assistant, need to be flexible, attentive, and engaged.

Who are we looking for?

As a personal assistant, you need to be responsible, stable, and sensitive. You must be able to work in a structured manner, follow routines, and simultaneously adapt to the client's daily mood. It is important that you have a calm demeanor and the ability to create security in daily life.

Experience with autism, intellectual disabilities, personal assistance, or working with challenging behaviors is advantageous, but personal suitability is most important.

You need to have good proficiency in Swedish, as communication, collaboration, and clarity are important parts of the job.

Based on the client's needs and the personal nature of the assignment, we are primarily seeking female assistants.

Employment conditions:

• Part-time: Part-time

Working hours are primarily scheduled for weekends. There may also be opportunities for extra shifts if needed.

Other information:

The work can be physically demanding and requires you to be attentive and present during work shifts. Introduction and shadowing are planned before you work independently.

Since the work involves assistance for a child, we will request an extract from the criminal record register before employment can become current.
