Vålbergsskolan is a grades 1-9 school located in the western part of Karlstad Municipality. We are close to beautiful nature and sports facilities such as a swimming hall and an ice rink. Approximately 450 students attend the school, and we have a dedicated staff. We work hard to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential and enjoy their time at school. We believe in the students' abilities and support them in growing both in knowledge and as individuals. All students are given the opportunity and tools to learn to take responsibility for their own learning and development.

Responsibilities

As a leisure center teacher, you help create a safe, stimulating, and developmental learning environment for the students, where care, learning, and play form a whole throughout the day. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in the leisure center based on the curriculum's goals, with a focus on students' social development, interaction, and independence.

During the school day, you collaborate with class teachers and other staff to support students' learning and contribute to a holistic education. You are present as a supportive and safe adult in the classroom, during breaks, and in the leisure activities, where you actively work to create an inclusive and positive environment.

You pay attention to each student's individual needs and prerequisites, and support their development both academically and socially. By offering varied, creative, and meaningful activities, you contribute to stimulating students' curiosity, initiative, and desire to learn.

You are part of the leisure center team and participate in collegial collaboration, where you together develop the operations and ensure high quality in the pedagogical work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a leisure center teacher. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of how different functional variations affect students' learning, as well as work experience from working in a school for younger children.

You are self-reliant and confident in your professional role, with the ability to take responsibility for the planning, implementation, and development of teaching in the leisure center.

You have a good ability to adapt your working methods based on students' different needs and the prerequisites of the operation, and see flexibility as a natural part of the work. You thrive in collaboration with colleagues, students, and guardians, and actively contribute to a positive, solution-focused, and professional work climate.

We value that you easily create and maintain good relationships and build trust through a listening, clear, and respectful approach. You have good pedagogical insight and understanding of students' different prerequisites, and work consciously to promote both their knowledge development and social development.

You are engaged in creating a meaningful, safe, and stimulating leisure center activity where students are given the opportunity to develop their creativity, cooperation skills, and independence.
