We have made our decision! We aim to be a leading municipality – and we have everything it takes to succeed. Short decision-making paths, collaboration across operational boundaries, and the will to dare more. Our high ambitions give you, with your own drive, the opportunity to grow and create positive change for the citizens. As an employee of Ekerö Municipality, you will have a valuable role in our unique archipelago world – and we look forward to your application.

About the Role

"Youth in Ekerö Municipality" works professionally and purposefully to ensure a safe, equal, developmental, fun, and meaningful leisure time for the municipality's children and youth aged 10–18. The unit consists of three youth clubs with a total of approximately 800 placed children, as well as three youth activities offering both open and organized operations. One of the youth centers is adapted for youth with special needs. Youth in Ekerö Municipality also offers location-independent activities shaped by youth initiatives and taking place in various locations. We conduct outreach work primarily within schools and associations, where our outward-facing youth leaders, field assistants, and youth coordinators work at universal, selective, and indicated levels. Social media is an important part of our work to reach and engage young people.

Youth in Ekerö works to promote, prevent, and build relationships to create safety and good upbringing conditions for the municipality's children and young people. The operation consists of field assistants, youth coordinators, and open youth activities that work closely with young people in their daily lives. The work is carried out in collaboration with schools, social services, police, guardians, and the association sector.

Responsibilities

As a field assistant, you work outreach and preventively with young people in their daily lives. You build relationships and create safety by being present where young people are – in schools, at youth activities, in public spaces, and at various events and arrangements.

The work involves making contact with young people, identifying needs and early signals, and contributing to positive and safe environments. You work both individually and together with colleagues and partners to support young people and their networks.

The role includes, among other things:

  • working to build relationships and outreach
  • collaborating with schools, social services, police, and other actors
  • participating in safety-building work during evenings and weekends
  • contributing to meaningful leisure time and participation for young people
  • conducting conversations and supportive interventions
  • documenting and following up on work according to operational routines

You will be part of an engaged team where collaboration, flexibility, and professional interaction are central parts of the role.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should:

  • have post-secondary education in social work, pedagogy, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • have experience working with young people
  • have a good ability to build trusting relationships
  • be secure, responsible, and flexible in your approach
  • be able to work both independently and in a team
  • have good verbal and written skills in Swedish
  • hold a valid B-driver's license

We would also appreciate if you have the following qualifications:

  • experience in outreach or preventive work
  • experience in collaboration between different operations

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

What We Offer

Start date: According to agreement
Hours: Full-time
Employment type: Permanent

About Ekerö Municipality

We are a variety of different operations that together create a unique municipality – where we all help each other across unit and operational boundaries. We live our values, which mean great commitment, good communication with open dialogue, and a professional attitude. As a smaller municipality in the Stockholm region, we can offer both closeness to each other and an ambitious development journey. To become a leading municipality, we need to add new perspectives, and we hope you want to contribute yours.

Ekerö Municipality wants to be an attractive employer and strives for a clear focus on sustainability. Provided that the operation's ability to achieve its goals remains, the municipality has a positive attitude towards remote work when possible.

We offer, for example, wellness benefits, salary exchange for pension, exchange of holiday day allowances for free days, and smoke-free working hours. To ensure the quality of our recruitment process, we ask you to submit your application digitally, not via email or post.

We have already taken a stance on recruitment channels and marketing and do not wish to have contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar services.
