The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We operate youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working with us means your professional life will be a challenging and exciting opportunity where you, regardless of your role or location, contribute to life-changing changes.

SiS Youth Home Råby receives both girls and boys. We offer both closed and open placements for closed youth care, as well as treatment spots for young people placed under the Youth Care Act (LVU).

Job Description

Are you motivated by helping young people and clients in vulnerable life situations? Do you also enjoy organizing, leading, and planning? Apply for the position of Group Leader at SiS! As a Group Leader, you contribute to a safe and secure environment for both placed children, young people, clients, and staff. You work actively in the operational care and treatment work on the ward. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading, and distributing daily tasks. You act as a role model and promote work that is legally secure and in accordance with current guidelines, methods, and set goals. You keep the unit manager updated on matters that may affect the work environment, care environment, or operational deficiencies. Onboarding and supervision of new employees are also part of your role.

You are part of a team with the unit manager and treatment secretary, working closely together to achieve good results. In close collaboration with the staffing planner and unit manager, you lead and distribute personnel resources efficiently. You are also responsible for safety and fire safety on the ward and ensure that safety routines are followed.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role of Group Leader, you are motivated by working with and helping people in vulnerable life situations. The operational work and interaction with young people/clients are your primary focus. We are looking for someone with personal maturity, a high level of self-control, self-awareness, and a professional attitude. You should be stable and stress-resistant in pressured situations. You must have good teamwork skills and be able to lead without being a manager. Very good administrative skills and the ability to maintain a high degree of structure are required. In working with vulnerable and sometimes acting-out young people, as well as the staff working closest to them, great emphasis is placed on your ability to be clear, pedagogical, and low-affective in your approach. At the same time, you should be flexible and solution-focused in an environment with rapid changes. You need good communication skills in both speech and writing. You must uphold our core values and treat everyone with respect, care, and clarity.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

You must also have:

  • A relevant university degree (180 ECTS) in social sciences, care sciences, or behavioral sciences, or a university college degree (400 credits) combined with work experience in a relevant field.
  • Several years of merit-worthy work experience from SiS or another organization focused on care, treatment, and security, such as social services, healthcare, or correctional services.
  • A valid B-class driver's license.

At SiS, we value good leadership. This means taking responsibility for the whole, acting as a good role model, driving development, promoting good collaboration, and being clear in communication.
