Chemistry and mathematics, as well as subject didactics and methodology.

Job Responsibilities

The position includes teaching in chemistry and mathematics within the qualifying education program (technical foundation year). Teaching in mathematics and chemistry on the Chemical Engineering bachelor's program may also be included. Responsibilities include examination, supervision of projects, and course development. Instruction is conducted in Swedish.

Qualifications

To be eligible for appointment as an Associate Professor (Adjunkt), the candidate must:

• Hold a degree at the first or second cycle level in the subject of employment, or possess equivalent competence.
• Demonstrate professional skills relevant to the subject content and duties of the position.
• Show pedagogical competence.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation criteria for appointment as an Associate Professor at KTH are those specified in Section 1.5 of KTH's Employment Regulations, in relation to the established employment profile.

It is of highest importance that the applicant has

• Pedagogical competence. The assessment of pedagogical competence must also include the person's ability to develop as a teacher in the long term.
• Subject-specific competence relevant to the content of the position.
• Ability to supervise students in their development and prepare them for further studies and working life.
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish.
• Teaching experience from upper secondary school (gymnasium).

It is of next highest importance that the applicant has

• Eligibility to teach chemistry and mathematics at the upper secondary level.
• Teaching experience from higher education.

It is also of importance that the applicant has

• Teaching experience in physics at the upper secondary level.
• Administrative competence.
• University-level pedagogical education.
• Professional skills relevant to the content of the position.
• Professional experience outside higher education.
• Competence in development work within the field.
• Ability to collaborate with the surrounding society.
• Ability to develop and lead operations and personnel, as well as teamwork skills. This includes knowledge of diversity and equal treatment issues, with a special focus on gender equality.
