Adapted Primary School is now looking for a special needs teacher with a focus on Intellectual Disability (IF), as one of our current staff members is moving on to another position. We look forward to receiving your application!

Adapted Primary School is part of the Northern Principal Area and we operate at Stenstalid and Hacklehem schools. Here, students with intellectual disabilities who are not assessed as being able to meet the knowledge requirements of standard primary school attend classes. We are divided into subjects and subject areas, serving students from Year 1 to Year 9, with just over 50 pupils. The school is located close to forests and playgrounds, and is only 10 minutes from the travel center if you commute by bus or train.

This position is located within subject areas for stages 4–6, situated at Hacklehem School. Here, students study five different subject areas: aesthetic activities, communication, motor skills, daily activities, and perception of reality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities will be to plan and conduct teaching for our students. The role also involves planning the tasks for your student resources and, together with them, taking responsibility for the development of the operations.

In addition to cognitive development, students need your support in their social development. Our students often have care needs that you must be able to meet and handle in daily life. For the benefit of the students, close and trusting cooperation with guardians, colleagues, and other actors is an important part of the role.

We are looking for someone who consciously works to create a learning environment that is safe, challenging, and stimulating, where students' curiosity and desire to learn can flourish.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability, but we also welcome those who are in the final stages of their education.

We seek a calm and harmonious person with a strong commitment to students' learning and development. You are stable and create structure, predictability, and security in teaching, even in situations that require adaptation and sensitivity.

You have good cooperation skills and enjoy working in a team with colleagues. With your relationship-building and empathetic abilities, you build trusting relationships with guardians, partners, and most importantly, with the students you meet based on their individual needs and conditions.

You are clear in your communication and adapt your language and approach to those you meet. With your pedagogical insight, you plan, conduct, and develop teaching in a conscious and inclusive way, where every student is given the opportunity to succeed.

As a person, you are sensitive and flexible, and you have the ability to find solutions in a changing daily life with the students' best interests in focus.
