We are now looking for a school counselor for our adapted school! Are you our new colleague?

As a school counselor, your work will primarily be linked to Allöskolan A, a new secondary school (grades 7-9) that will open in week 45. Some of the work will also be linked to other school units within the operational area. The assignment may change over time as the number of students in this school form increases.

Adapted primary school and adapted upper secondary school have been organized into one operational area since January 1, 2026. The operational area is led by an operations manager and consists of six school units for adapted primary school (grades 1-6), one secondary school (grades 7-9), and two units for adapted upper secondary school.

Your role with us

As a school counselor with us, you perform common school counseling tasks, including support conversations, guidance, information, and assessments. You build good relationships with both students and guardians, and conduct assessments and evaluations of students' social and psychosocial situations. You work on both individual and group levels through support and motivation conversations, theme work in classes, and investigations of student absences.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with the principal, other professionals in the student health team, and external actors such as social services and child and adolescent psychiatry. An interest in working in teams with different professions and an understanding of each other's professional roles is therefore of utmost importance, as is a focus on promoting and preventive work.

Who are we looking for?

You who apply have a degree in social work. We would like you to have training in motivational interviewing or Repulse. We want you to have experience working with children and young people and in promoting and preventive interventions. Experience working as a school counselor or as a social worker within social services is advantageous. Knowledge and experience of various disabilities are required, as well as knowledge of the vulnerability of the student group and their high risk of exclusion. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the Social Services Act and the Education Act.

We want you to have an interest in working in teams with different professions and the ability to meet students, guardians, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner. This requires knowledge of interaction strategies and communication methods.

In your work, you are structured, clear, and able to take initiative and make decisions within the framework of your assignment. We want you to act independently and in collaboration with others for the best interests of children and students, and to be motivated by meeting people in different life situations with different support needs. You have good verbal and written communication skills, and documentation is done in the operational system Prorenata.
