The position is located at the Department of Organismal Biology, which is part of the Evolutionary Biology Centre (EBC). The department has approximately 100 employees and conducts research in developmental biology, systematics, evolution, and physiology of living organisms.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and structure a database with data from hundreds of stem cell transplants in different parts of the brain.
  • Organize a network of contacts with researchers who have participated in these studies.
  • Extract new information from each study, particularly the sex of the donor cells.
  • Compile and analyze all new information.
  • Prepare a manuscript for scientific publication.

Qualifications

  • A PhD in developmental biology or a related field assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Documented experience in stem cell culture and differentiation.
  • Good knowledge of stem cell biology.
  • Experience in data collection, information compilation, statistical analysis, and preparation of scientific manuscripts.
  • IT skills relevant to database management.
  • Very good proficiency in English, both oral and written, is required.

Great importance will be attached to personal qualities such as independence and initiative. We also look for candidates who are goal- and result-oriented and have good oral and written communication skills. Furthermore, it is important that you have a structured work approach.

Desirable/Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of transplantation techniques.

About the Position

The employment is fixed-term for 4 months, from September 2026 to December 2026. Full-time (100%). Start date: September 1, 2026, or as agreed. Location: Uppsala.
