Department of Pharmaceutical Biosciences

Research Assistant 1
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research in natural product chemistry.
- Isolate and structurally characterize bioactive substances from Actinobacteria.
- Participate in method development for the analysis of natural products.
- Perform bioactivity assays against microorganisms.
- Document experiments and results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
Qualifications
- Documented laboratory experience in the isolation and/or structural determination of natural products (MS, NMR, HPLC).
- Documented experience working with Actinobacteria.
- Experience with bioactivity assays against microorganisms.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Swedish, as well as very good documentation skills.
We are looking for a candidate who is meticulous, structured, and team-oriented. Great emphasis will be placed on your ability to work in a team and contribute to a well-functioning research environment.
Desirable/Additional Qualifications
- Experience working with plant-derived natural products.
- Experience with HPLC method development and analytical chemistry.
Research Assistant 2
Responsibilities
- Contribute to research in natural product chemistry, specifically peptides.
- Synthesize bioactive peptides.
- Isolate peptides and proteins.
- Perform bioactivity assays against microorganisms.
- Document experiments and results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).
Qualifications
- Documented laboratory experience in peptide synthesis.
- Isolation and/or structural determination of peptides (MS, HPLC).
- Documented experience working in a microbiological laboratory.
- Experience with bioactivity assays against microorganisms.
- Experience working with assays against bacterial biofilms.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Swedish, as well as very good documentation skills.

- Experience working with natural products.

About the Position
The position is fixed-term for 3 months. The position is full-time. Start date 2026-06-22 or as agreed.
