At Brotorpsskolan, we put learning at the center and base our work on clear, teacher-led instruction. We strive to maintain good order, clear routines, and a positive study environment in our learning spaces.

Brotorpsskolan is located in central Lindesberg. The school is a grades F-6 unit with approximately 490 students. The school operates with three parallel classes and seven work teams, all named after gemstones.

The school is led by a team consisting of a principal and two deputy principals. We have a well-functioning student health team including a counselor, special educators, a school psychologist, and school nurses. "Pärlan" (The Pearl) is our special educational needs team, comprising special educators, special needs teachers, and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) teachers. Our after-school centers are located at Månstenen, Solstenen, Ametisten, and Smaragden.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher specializing in Special Educational Needs, you will primarily work in our special educational environment with individual students or small groups, though it may also involve scheduled lessons in a specific grade level. You will collaborate with mentors and the school's special educational team. The role may also include contact with guardians and other tasks related to students in need of special support. We expect you to have good experience in planning, implementing, and following up on teaching. You will support, encourage, and motivate students in both academic work and daily situations, as well as in social interactions. This position is a one-year fixed-term contract with a possibility of extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive in this role, you need to be self-driven, receptive, and able to adapt quickly as students' needs may change throughout the school day. You must also be able to collaborate well with colleagues, students, and guardians.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Teacher certification aimed at grades 4-6
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD)

The position is a fixed-term employment with the possibility of extension.
