The Department of Education and Labour Market is looking for a key person to develop and lead the work towards increased self-sufficiency. The position of Senior Social Worker is new and offers a unique opportunity to shape and develop working methods and structures in the area together with colleagues.

The Labour Market and Social Services department is responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of the municipality's labour market measures as well as the processing of financial assistance. The overall mission is to support residents in achieving self-sufficiency and participating in society.

Your Responsibilities

You play a central role in daily operations as an accessible and present line manager, handling both routine cases and more complex assessments. You have overall responsibility for operational work and ensure that individuals and families receive the right support on their path to self-sufficiency. Through good knowledge of legislation, guidelines, and processes, you contribute to legally secure assessments and efficient case processing.

A key part of the role is driving the development of professional work within the team. This involves:

• Supporting employees in ensuring quality and legal security in case processing and documentation.
• Participating in the induction and competence development of new employees.
• Contributing to a safe, learning, and sustainable work environment where employees have opportunities to develop.
• Supporting complex cases and contributing to well-balanced decisions based on current legislation.
• Actively collaborating with internal and external actors, such as the Swedish Public Employment Service, to strengthen individuals' opportunities for self-sufficiency.

Through your engagement, you contribute to developing the operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and respectful treatment.

Your Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must have a degree in Social Work and good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Computer literacy is required, and experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI) as well as previous work with financial assistance is desirable.
