Your Role

In the role of childcare assistant, you work with students in grades F–3. You are part of a team consisting of teachers, childcare assistants, resource pedagogues, and after-school teachers. Teachers and the after-school team collaborate and coordinate throughout the school day. You plan and structure the school day together to ensure students receive the best possible education and development. During the school day, you are a present, active, and supportive educator in both the classroom and during recess.

After school hours, you participate in and are responsible for activities in the after-school program. In close collaboration with the after-school team, you plan, implement, and evaluate activities based on official guidelines. You work with the understanding that the after-school program is an integral part of the school's teaching, where activities are planned with a clear pedagogical purpose and linked to the school's themes and focus areas. Together, you create a safe, inspiring, and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors, where the students' social and pedagogical development is the focus.

The role also includes receiving students in the morning, managing attendance, maintaining daily contact with guardians, and engaging in the school's systematic quality work. Opening and closing the after-school program is part of the job.

Your Experience

For this position, you are required to have:

• A secondary or post-secondary education as a childcare assistant.
• Experience working as a childcare assistant in an after-school program.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

The following qualifications are meritorious:

• Experience working in a school with students in grades F–3.
• Experience working with students requiring additional adjustments and special support.
