Stockholm Diocese seeks a Diocesan Adjunct with a focus on institutional pastoral care, pastoral care, and ecumenics

The Stockholm Diocesan Office has approximately 65 employees who together carry out a broad and meaningful mission: to promote and exercise oversight of the diocese's parishes and deaneries. The office works with support linked to the parishes' fundamental tasks – worship, education, diaconia, and mission – as well as leadership, property, finance, law, and sustainability. The office is organized into five units, and this position belongs to the 'Society and Life' unit.

The Diocesan Office's guiding principles are Parish in Focus, Strength Lies in the Group, and Active Employee Engagement. The office is led by the Diocesan Director in close cooperation with the Bishop and is located in newly renovated premises next to Kungsträdgården in central Stockholm.

Stockholm Diocesan Office is an activity-based workplace where remote work is possible to the extent that operations allow.

Responsibilities

The position involves responsibility for further education in pastoral care and institutional pastoral care, collaboration with other actors, including the Swedish Council of Churches, coordination of operational grants for institutional pastoral care in the Diocese of Stockholm, and coordination of ecumenical matters. The role also includes visiting hospital church work teams to build relationships and provide opportunities for direct contact regarding the issues and needs raised.

The tasks are varied and involve both rapid operational handling and long-term strategic planning. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

Work on weekends and evenings may occur.

Who we are looking for

We are now seeking an experienced priest who has a strong commitment to the church's mission to meet people where they are; in the church, in society, at workplaces, and in institutions.

We would like you to have:

• Experience from both on-call priesthood and institutional pastoral care
• Further education in pastoral care or psychotherapy
• Experience working at a strategic level on pastoral care issues (meritorious)

Personal qualities we value include strong analytical skills and the ability to work systematically with both extensive and varied material. You are skilled at organizing and writing documents and are accustomed to handling multiple tasks in parallel. You express yourself well both verbally and in writing. You are flexible, have good collaborative skills, and thrive working with different groups and people to create concrete results.
