In the role of counselor, you work in a promotional and preventive capacity together with your colleagues in the student health service. You are responsible, among other things, for our equal treatment work and have a special responsibility for students in need of special support from a social and psychosocial perspective, as well as actively participating in and assisting school management in school development work. With your competence, you contribute to ensuring that appropriate interventions for students in need of adjustments and special support from a social and psychosocial perspective are considered and offered. Furthermore, you work to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational levels, for students' health, learning, development, and working environment. Your duties also include working for an equitable learning environment that gives our students the prerequisites to achieve knowledge goals and personal development in an optimal way. You will become part of the student health professions at Lorensborgsskolan, which consists of special educators/special teachers and school nurses together with school management. You work closely with the work team to support each student's development towards the goals.

In addition to what is mentioned above, your duties also include, among other things:

  • Contribute knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, development, etc.
  • Conduct school social surveys and social assessments when necessary.
  • Offer supervision, consultation, and advice to school staff from a social perspective.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with students, guardians, school staff, and if necessary, external actors regarding interventions for students.
  • Coordinate with authorities and operations in preventive work concerning the school or the City of Malmö. For us, collaboration is a prerequisite for both success and well-being. You work actively and preventively to create the best prerequisites for our students from a social and psychosocial perspective.

Qualifications

You have a degree in social work and at least two years of experience working with children and young people. We would like you to have experience working as a school counselor. You have good insight into the school's goals and governing documents, knowledge of other departments and, for example, child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP), as well as knowledge of practice and guidelines in the field. As a person, you are flexible, non-hierarchical, and solution-focused; you adapt easily to the situation and ensure that things get done, big or small. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to build trusting relationships with both colleagues and students and guardians. Furthermore, you work proactively and independently develop your working methods and approaches based on your assignment and to achieve your goals.

Welcome with your application!
