Description

Do you want to make a difference for our youngest students and contribute to more of them reaching their goals? We are looking for an engaged special educator for Kronoparksskolan who wants to help develop our work with early interventions and increase students' goal achievement in Swedish as a second language and Swedish – with a focus on reading and writing skills.

Kronoparksskolan is a lower primary school. Here, students attend from preschool class to grade 3. The school has approximately 330 students and has been awarded the title "School for Sustainable Development" by the Swedish National Agency for Education.

Job Responsibilities

The role involves identifying, analyzing, and following up on students' needs for special support, using your pedagogical insight and problem-solving analytical skills to design precise interventions at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You work promotively and preventively, with a quality-conscious and systematic approach based on research and proven experience.

Teaching takes place both individually and in small groups, where your relationship-building approach contributes to security, motivation, and progression among students. You follow students' development from preschool class and upwards, ensuring that the right support is put in place at the right time, which requires a holistic view, careful follow-up, and good collaboration.

An important part of the role is to contribute to clear and secure transitions between stages, where you collaborate with teaching teachers and student health services to create continuity in students' learning. Through supervision and collegial learning, you support educators in the development of teaching and strengthen the school's collective competence.

You are a collaborative and development-driven special educator who sees opportunities, takes initiative, and actively contributes to the school's long-term quality and development work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher with a special education degree, with a focus on the early years of primary school (F–3), preferably with a focus on reading and writing development.

It is meritorious if you have experience of special pedagogical interventions in the early years of primary school, have worked with evidence-based methods for reading and writing development, and have experience leading pedagogical development work and implementing competence-raising initiatives. Experience working with transitions between preschool class and grade 1, with a focus on continuity and progression, is also meritorious, as is a particularly good ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

To succeed in the role, you have good knowledge of reading and writing development and an understanding of the importance of early, preventive, and promotional interventions. You work systematically with mapping, analysis, and follow-up of students' progression and use the results to plan and adapt pedagogical interventions in a quality-conscious manner. You have pedagogical insight and problem-solving analytical skills, which enable you to identify needs at an early stage and ensure the right support at the right time.

Furthermore, you have digital competence and experience using digital tools in teaching, mapping, and documentation. You have good collaboration skills and communicative competence, enabling you to supervise and support colleagues in a professional and responsive manner. Your relationship-building and professional approach contribute to secure collaborations and good relationships throughout the school's operations.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for you who are development-oriented, quality-conscious, and collaborative, with a clear student focus.
