About the position

Personal assistance is a service under the LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled People). In your role as a personal assistant, you will primarily help the customer with everything that arises in daily life as well as with basic needs. Your work involves safeguarding the customer's self-determination and integrity, and contributing to a smooth daily routine. Each assistance is uniquely adapted to the customer's life, so tasks may vary depending on the workplace.

Our customer is a cheerful and lively 28-year-old woman with an intellectual disability. The customer communicates using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and images, has many of her communication programs on her iPad, and also has picture schedules posted on the wall. She needs help and support with all daily situations.

The customer enjoys listening to music, dancing, doing gymnastics, swimming in the pool, riding, and meeting friends to find various activities, such as bowling and Jumpyard.

Who are you?

The role of personal assistant places high demands on the ability to build good relationships. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is sensitive, engaged, and responsible. It is also important that you can take initiative and see what needs to be done. To thrive as a personal assistant, it is important that there is good personal chemistry between you as the assistant and the customer.

In your work as a personal assistant, it is a plus if you enjoy gymnastics, dancing, and being active. You are not afraid of horses and have no problem swimming in the pool. It is important that you have an interest in technology and are comfortable using apps.

You are a cheerful and inventive young woman who is secure and mature as a person, living in or near Helsingborg or Mörarp. You need to have great patience, be responsible, and enjoy taking care of other people. Be cheerful, social, and have a positive outlook on life. Be able to or interested in learning PECS and low-affective handling. The chemistry between you and our customer is crucial for this position, which is why we encourage even those without previous experience in the profession of personal assistant to apply.

Requirements for the position:

• Category B driver's license (and several years of driving experience) and access to your own car

• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

• No fur allergy and no fear of horses

• Good physical fitness

• Non-smoker

It is an advantage if you:

• Have experience in similar work

• Have experience with PECS and low-affective handling

• Are accustomed to physical activities such as gymnastics and dancing

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. The customer prefers female applicants, but all applications will be considered.

Working hours, degree of employment, and salary:

The current form of employment is "hourly employment," which means work on an as-needed basis with varying working hours during the day, evening, and night on weekends. At night, there are 9.5 hours of on-call time.

Fixed hourly wage according to agreement, and other benefits are paid according to the collective agreement.
