Fryxellska School is looking for a substitute student assistant for grades 7-9 to support our students in close collaboration with the teachers.

The schools in Sunne Municipality base their education on the fundamental belief that children and students have the ability and desire to learn and develop. We develop our teaching based on language- and knowledge-developing approaches as well as differentiated instruction. It is important for us to participate in staff meeting times for joint discussions, learning, and development, as well as collaboration across grade levels. The school's student health team consists of counselors, school nurses, special education teachers, special needs teachers, the principal, and the deputy principal.

Responsibilities:

As a student assistant, you will regularly support and follow a specific student throughout their school day, both in classroom situations and during breaks. You will help guide the student in the long-term work of achieving the school's social and academic goals. You will collaborate with the student's mentors, school leadership, and the student health team, and be involved in planning the student's school day, adapting instruction based on individual needs. You will help create a safe foundation and good conditions for the students' development and learning. To thrive in this role, you enjoy playing, leading play, being meticulous with schedules, rules, and routines, and you appreciate movement and nature.

Qualifications:

You have at least a three-year upper secondary education with a pedagogical focus or equivalent work experience working with students with special needs. It is an advantage if you are a trained student assistant. We are looking for you with competence and experience in interacting with students in adapted schools, those with NPD (neuropsychiatric disabilities), and using low-affective interaction methods. Experience working within LSS (Support and Service Act) and care services, especially with children and young adults, is an advantage. It is crucial that you maintain a professional attitude towards students, guardians, and colleagues. To succeed in the role, you need good teamwork skills and a genuine interest in building relationships.

Conditions:
