Our Operations

The Department of Psychiatry at Akademiska Sjukhuset is organized into four subspecialized sections. The Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry and the Psychiatric Emergency Care Unit belong to the Acute and Consultative Psychiatry section. The Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry provides 24/7 emergency services and has overall responsibility for psychiatric emergency operations as well as consultative services for the rest of the hospital. The department also includes a Psychiatric Emergency Care Unit (PAVA) with twelve beds and the PAM unit, staffed by specialist nurses. We are looking for you who are a social worker/counselor with an interest in emergency psychiatry. Your Role

Currently, the Department of Psychiatry is undergoing a transition towards patient-centered care. As part of this work, the Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry will launch a follow-up clinic. This clinic will allow individuals without prior contact with specialist psychiatry to be followed for a shorter period, receiving crisis support, suicide preventive measures, and undergoing shorter assessments. For this position, we are seeking a social worker who, in close collaboration with resident and attending physicians, will run this clinic. The role involves follow-ups with suicide preventive measures, crisis support, support with social and economic problems, as well as telephone follow-ups. Close collaboration with somatic care colleagues will also begin shortly.

Working at the Emergency Department for Adult Psychiatry requires you to work efficiently, be goal-oriented, and collaborate with various professional categories. All psychiatric conditions are present in daily work.

Your Qualifications and Competence

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work and a genuine interest in psychiatry. As a person, you are independent, responsible, collegial, and stress-resistant. You have good communication and collaboration skills. The majority of the work consists of teamwork, so you need to be accustomed to working in teams with different professional categories. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement (minimum level C1).

We Offer

We offer a project employment for 6 months with the possibility of extension. The position is full-time with working hours scheduled during office hours. Start date by agreement.
