At Väster Innerstaden, you will find a group of engaged colleagues working to help the residents of Malmö with the best interests of the child in focus.

Job Responsibilities

As an investigating social secretary for Children and Family (0–18 years), you work with investigating the needs of children and their parents for interventions, both according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU).

Your main task is to conduct investigations as well as follow-ups and reviews of assistance according to Children's Needs in Focus (BBIC). The investigation work also includes cooperation with the child's network and motivational work with the family.

The work involves qualified investigation and follow-up work characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal security, as well as great variety and change. We value the views and opinions of children and parents, and we work to ensure that children and young people are involved in their investigations and follow-ups.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you have:

• A degree in Social Work (Social Work degree)
• At least 3 years of experience in social work after graduation
• Good command of Swedish in speech and writing

Meritorious:

• Experience in authority work according to SoL and LVU
• Experience in social work concerning children and young people
• Documented further education in the area
• Knowledge of or experience with BBIC, MI, or Signs of Safety
• Experience working in Lifecare
• Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles

The job requires your ability to create and maintain relationships with children and young people, their families, and our various partners. You have an easy time cooperating, have good empathetic ability, and adapt easily to new circumstances. Taking responsibility for your tasks is second nature to you. Furthermore, we appreciate that you work constructively with complex issues and maintain a realistic perspective on situations and focus on the right things. Having a solution-focused approach also helps you navigate pressured situations and in a dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly.

About the Workplace

The Business Area Individual and Family is divided into two departments with different missions and focus areas: Intervention and Investigation. Within the Investigation department, approximately 500 employees currently work with authority work within our units for Children and Family, and our employees have high competence and great commitment to social work.

We are now recruiting for two permanent positions and two fixed-term contracts for our unit. In our unit, we work with a focus on investigations and follow-up of interventions based on children and their families.
