Do you want to help shape the future of social services? We are currently implementing changes to ensure we can continue to offer good help and support to our citizens. Examples of these changes include the introduction of first and second-line social services to better handle different types of cases and provide more tailored services.

One of our employees is going on parental leave, which is why we are looking for a new colleague for our intake group. Here, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and developing environment where your commitment and competence truly make a difference. We warmly welcome your application!

The role of Social Secretary with us

As a Social Secretary, you will receive incoming reports and applications concerning children and young people aged 0–20 and conduct preliminary assessments to decide whether to initiate an investigation or not. You will also conduct urgent protective assessments in cases of more serious reports. As part of the preliminary assessments, you will speak with children, young people, and their parents about their situations. This also includes consultation with other professionals and residents.

We function as an advisory and support service, referring both residents and other professionals to appropriate services when requested. You thrive in a varied job in a changing environment where no two days are alike. Given that our administration is working on changes to better handle different types of cases, your tasks may evolve as we focus on those we serve and aim to create a needs-based first and second-line social service.

Your profile

To thrive in this role, you must enjoy working in an operation with short processes. The work is also characterized by change, so it is important that you are flexible and can easily adapt to changed circumstances. At the same time, you have the ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize your work. You are calm, stable, and have the ability to focus on the right things and maintain a realistic perspective even under high workload. You are articulate in both speech and writing and produce high-quality documentation. In stressful situations, you maintain your composure and have the ability to focus on the task.

In the work group, we work closely together and help each other in daily tasks, so teamwork is a fundamental prerequisite. You enjoy collaborating within your own work group but also see great benefits in collaborating with others, both internally and externally. It is important that you are a secure person with balance and self-awareness who can see relationships in their proper perspective and relate to others in a smooth manner. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

  • holds a degree in Social Work (Social Work degree)
  • has a valid driver's license (Category B)
  • expresses themselves well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work
  • has acquired good knowledge of current legislation and good knowledge of "Children's Needs in Focus" (BBIC) through studies/experience

It is an advantage if you have:

  • at least one year of experience working with children and young people in authority-executing operations

Please read more about us

Within the administration, we are transforming ourselves and have created a new unit, the Prevention Unit for Children and Young People. The unit consists of three groups: the prevention team, the intake group for children and young people, and the outpatient care group for children and young people. The unit is part of the first-line social service for children and young people and is led by a unit manager. This is a new way of working with the aim of supporting the municipality's children and families at an earlier stage in a more coordinated and efficient manner.

Within the existing intake group, there is good collegial support and a welcoming climate where we collaborate and help each other.
