Employment Consultant with a Focus on Internship Acquisition

The Municipal Executive Office (KLK) is one of the municipality's departments under the Municipal Board and is responsible for leading and coordinating a wide range of cross-municipal assignments. In addition to strategically steering and coordinating the municipality's projects, the task is to be the ultimate support for the municipality's seven departments. To identify needs, analyze, create prerequisites, make suggestions, and challenge matters that are important for the municipality, the group, and our societal development. All of this is carried out with quality, heart, and a touch of attitude.

The Municipal Executive Office consists of the Municipal Secretary's office, HR, Finance, IT, Communications, Development, Real Estate Development, and Business Development departments.

The Employment Market Unit is seeking an engaged Employment Consultant with an expanded responsibility for internship acquisition, for an initiative focused on supporting individuals with long-term unemployment and limited work capacity towards self-sufficiency.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of Employment Consultant, you work to support individuals who are far from the labor market in approaching work, studies, or self-sufficiency. You are responsible for creating structure, direction, and progress in the individual's process. Through a coaching and relationship-based approach, you strengthen motivation, independence, and participation.

An important part of the assignment is to work externally towards the labor market in the role of Internship Coordinator. Through active presence in the local community, proactive work, and relationship building, you create opportunities for participants to access internships and employment.

  • Conduct assessments that illuminate life situation, work capacity, and motivation
  • Design and follow up on individual action plans together with the participant
  • Work on matching with work, internships, and studies based on the individual's progression
  • In the role of Internship Coordinator, be responsible for driving and developing internship acquisition by establishing and nurturing employer contacts and ensuring access to relevant internship opportunities
  • Coordinate support efforts together with, for example, healthcare, authorities, and rehabilitation functions
  • Support the participant in contacts with, for example, the Swedish Public Employment Service, social services, and healthcare
  • Participate in collaboration meetings and contribute to joint solutions regarding the individual's needs

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have relevant education and experience working with individuals in need of support to approach the labor market, as well as:

  • Experience working with people in change processes, preferably related to long-term unemployment or reduced work capacity
  • Understanding of labor market issues and how different initiatives and actors collaborate
  • Documented experience in coordination and contact with authorities and other external actors
  • Ability to create trusting relationships and work in an individualized manner
  • Good digital competence and experience working in operational systems
  • Category B driver's license, as travel is included in the position

A requirement is that you meet at least two of the following:

  • Experience working according to Supported Employment
  • Knowledge in Motivational Interviewing (MI) or similar approaches
  • Familiarity with the BIP study
