Welcome to us

Do you want to work with public authority decisions and are interested in the target group of the elderly? The Elderly Needs Assessment unit is responsible for exercising public authority according to the Social Services Act for persons over 65 years old. We investigate, decide, order, and follow up on measures for our target group. The area is led by a district manager and includes four units within the elderly needs assessment area, comprising a total of approximately 90 dedicated employees. In the group, we help and support each other during peak workloads, share knowledge, and enjoy our work.

Your role

As a Social Services Case Worker (Biståndshandläggare), you are responsible for investigating needs, assessing, deciding on, and following up on measures according to the Social Services Act for persons over 65 years old. Follow-up of approved measures, implementation, and costs are included as part of the case processing. The work consists largely of documentation and meetings with others, which places high demands on good communication skills in both speech and writing.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in Social Work or education that the employer considers equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of the Social Services Act and legal practice.
  • Previous experience with needs assessment through public authority exercise within elderly care or LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).
  • Good proficiency in the Swedish language in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Knowledge of Stockholm City's guidelines within social services for the elderly.
  • Experience working with needs assessment within Stockholm City.
  • Practical experience and knowledge within the documentation systems Paraply and LifeCare.

We need you who are flexible and adapt easily to changed circumstances. Within needs assessment, you will make many decisions, and we are looking for you who make decisions with judgment and act based on them despite limited information, time pressure, or difficult circumstances. As a person, you are structured with good ability to organize and prioritize your work in an effective way. We are looking for you who have good cooperation skills with the individual always in focus. To succeed in the role as a public authority officer, it is important that you are professional in your occupational role and can distinguish between the personal and the professional, as well as being secure, stable, and having self-awareness.
