SiS Youth Home Klarälvsgården receives boys who are not subject to compulsory schooling and who have psychosocial problems, as well as criminal and substance abuse issues. We have the mandate to receive boys with an increased need for psychiatric interventions.

Job Description:

At SiS Youth Home Klarälvsgården, we run our own school combined with treatment for young people placed in residential care. Collaboration between the school and the wards is central to how well we succeed in motivating young people to turn a negative development into something that can mean better conditions for a good life. The school consists of a principal, teachers, study and career counselors, and special educators who, in collaboration, plan, teach, evaluate, and develop the school work at the institution. There is also a student health team. The institution also provides its own health care with a nurse and a psychologist.

Qualifications:

We are looking for you who are a licensed vocational teacher with the eligibility to teach at the Industrial Programme, where our focus will be on Welding. You will be responsible for educating our students in welding, both in theory and practical modules, according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's curricula. A genuine interest in learning, experience in the profession, and sought-after competencies are of great importance. You will be part of the team that launches and builds the education with us and will be responsible for adapting the education to fit the individual students' goals.

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. Being independent, structured, having good communication skills, being flexible, and quickly able to adapt both teaching and planning are important. Building relationships with both students and colleagues, both within the school and treatment, and having the students' focus as the foundation of the work is advantageous.

We would like you to have the following education:

• Pedagogy and Teacher Education
• Post-secondary education (2 years or longer) in industry with a focus on Welding

Applicants are also interesting even if the pedagogical part is missing, provided the eligibility can be acquired at a later date.

Competencies:

• Industrial Work – Welding
• IWS Eligibility (International Welding Specialist)
• Knowledge and experience of welding in the methods TIG, MMA, MIG/MAG
• Welding certification ISO 9606-1 in the methods TIG, MIG/MAG, MMA
• Experience working with sheet metal machines
• Competence in gas cutting with acetylene/oxygen
• Competence in reading drawings

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date: 2026-09-01.
