Your role with us

As a youth coach, you work with psychosocial change work with young people who cannot benefit from treatment within their families for various reasons. The symptom load is often high, which affects everyone. The purpose of coaching young people is to motivate them to create better conditions for their development together with the care persons in their network. Motivational work also needs to be done with parents by engaging them more in their child's development.

The goal of the work is often to be a coach to motivate the young person to make different choices in their life and, together with the whole family, contribute to better relationships in the supporting system.

Our work always starts from a systemic perspective, which means that we work with the entire network. The work takes place in close collaboration with our colleagues in the authority unit that grants the intervention for the child and/or youth. The colleagues in the authority unit formulate a mandate for the family. As a youth coach, you manage this mandate together with the family and create goals that the family and young person are involved in.

For this position, you will initially work mostly as a youth coach, but the work can shift to also include family therapy in general. All based on need and demand. You who apply should be interested in working in different ways regardless of which technique or method you start from, as it is primarily relationship and communication that we strengthen in family interventions.

The Youth Coach at Parkstadens Outpatient Care also works as a SIG (Social Intervention Group) coordinator. This means that you coordinate cooperation between the family, social services, school, police, and other important partners for the youth. As a youth coach, you receive these cases, convene, document, and lead meetings.

Irregular working hours in the evenings and on weekends may occur based on planning in individual cases.

Who are we looking for?

You who apply have a social work degree or another university/college education that the employer considers equivalent. It is an advantage if you have further education in working with youth change, further education such as Savry, HAP, Crime as a Lifestyle, and rePulse. Furthermore, some years of experience in psychosocial treatment work with children, parents, and families are required. Prismas work requires that you are good at using your own resources within given frameworks for the best results. You who apply to us have a B-driver's license for a manual gearbox to easily get around in our municipality when needed.

As a person, you have the ability to work with other people, which means that you can listen, be unpretentious, and show respect. You notice and reward others' efforts. We also want you to have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions.

When a candidate is offered employment, the person who in their work directly and regularly comes into contact with children must show an extract from the police criminal record according to the provisions in 2013:852 Social Services Act.
