Do you want to help shape the future of healthcare and education? Here you can combine clinical work with teaching and research in a unique combined position between Region Jönköping County and Jönköping University (JU). Together, we put the person at the center and create the conditions for a sustainable and knowledge-driven healthcare system.

The position is full-time, with placement at the School of Health Sciences (50%) and the Department of Surgery and Intensive Care at Ryhov County Hospital, Region Jönköping County (50%). The main employment is with JU.

20% of the position is allocated for research – distributed between the university and the region (10% + 10%). This gives you excellent opportunities to develop and conduct research that is both relevant and close to clinical reality. During the first two years, the research is funded by the operations; thereafter, you are expected to actively contribute to securing external funding for continued research.

The position is a strategic initiative to raise the healthcare scientific and academic competence in anesthesia and intensive care within clinical operations and education. This implies long-term work to create effective collaboration between the clinic and the university, strengthen the link between theory and practice through clinic-based research and methodological support, and contribute to competence supply through recruitment, education, and development.

The role at the School of Health Sciences and your role as University Lecturer

You teach within the Nursing Program and the Specialist Nurse Programs, both theoretically and in clinical education. You contribute to a learning environment that promotes students' responsibility for their own learning, where a scientific approach is a natural part of the teaching. Here you will find a dynamic and stimulating academic environment with close collaboration with colleagues. You are expected to contribute to the quality and relevance of the education as well as the development of new knowledge areas within nursing.

Clinical part of the position within Region Jönköping County and your role as Specialist Nurse in anesthesia or intensive care

You combine patient-oriented work with research, development, and education. As a Specialist Nurse, you work in interprofessional teams and contribute to highly specialized care. You play a key role in integrating new knowledge, stimulating learning, and driving quality development.

You work to integrate theory and practice, for example by identifying clinically relevant thesis topics within the Specialist Nurse Program. You participate in the research group at the clinic and act as a link between education, clinic, and development. Through your engagement, you strengthen the interest in doctoral studies and contribute to making Region Jönköping County an attractive workplace as well as the clinic's development towards a university hospital unit.

Research

The research component is a joint effort between the clinic and the university, supported by Futurum (Academy of Health and Care, Region Jönköping County). The purpose is to promote high-quality, clinic-based, and clinically relevant healthcare scientific research.

Your profile

You are a registered nurse with specialist education in anesthesia and/or intensive care, and you hold a PhD in nursing, health sciences, medicine, or another related field. You have broad and current knowledge in the area relevant to the position, documented pedagogical skill, and experience in teaching, preferably within the Specialist Nurse Program.

Experience in obtaining external funds through competition is meritorious, as is demonstrated ability to collaborate within research and education with the surrounding society.

As a person, you are independent, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You are expected to create and maintain contacts with students, patients, colleagues, and external actors. You have the ability to adapt teaching to students with different prerequisites and are accustomed to handling digital technology, as parts of the teaching are conducted in hybrid or distance formats.

To succeed in the role of University Lecturer and clinically active lecturer, you must have the ability to plan, communicate, and organize your work in an effective and purposeful manner. The education is given in Swedish and English, which means you need to master both languages in speech and writing.
