About the role

In the role of GIS Specialist, you will, together with your colleagues, drive and develop the geodata area towards investment projects and investigations within Svenska kraftnät.

You will belong to the Geodata unit, which is responsible for managing the technical documentation and geodata for Svenska kraftnät's facilities, coordinating Svenska kraftnät's GIS work, and assisting business and IT specialists with geodata.

The position involves having a coordinating role for GIS Specialists working in various projects. The role requires experience in coordination and project management, as well as the ability to maintain a holistic perspective on the organization's needs and development opportunities.

Examples of tasks:

• Coordination of GIS Specialists working in various projects and being driving forces in the projects' work with geographical data.
• Being an expert in GIS/geodata issues.
• Compiling, processing, analyzing, and presenting geodata as needed and requested.
• Producing maps for intended purposes based on existing templates.
• Create and maintain data and applications in Svenska kraftnät's cloud-based collaboration platform (ArcGIS Online) as well as ArcGIS Pro.
• Further development of automated workflows for geodata processing using FME.
• Responsible for ensuring that the structure of the GIS platform is followed, maintained, and that correct permissions for information usage are secured.
• Participate in the unit's as well as the agency's development work.

We are a unit of 10 employees and approx. 10 resource consultants with high competence and drive, and are accustomed to working with many different contact surfaces both within the agency and with external collaboration partners.

About you

Requirements

You have a GIS engineering degree or a university education with a GIS focus, or equivalent experience as assessed by Svenska kraftnät. Furthermore, you have:

• At least 5 years of documented work experience within GIS and Geodata.
• At least 3 years of documented work experience in GIS coordination.
• Work experience from independent work with GIS/geodata in projects, including needs analysis and dialogue with multiple stakeholders.
• Work experience with ESRI's software platform, both as client tools (ArcGIS Pro) and as a platform for distributed map services over the Internet (ArcGIS Online).
• Work experience from working with FME, including development, maintenance, and further development of automated workflows for geodata processing.

We consider it meritorious if you have experience with:

• GIS coordinator or geodata coordinator from municipality, county administrative board, and/or state operations.
• In-depth knowledge in automation and optimization of complex workflows in geodata processing using FME. This includes experience from working with advanced transformations and handling large data sets, such as point clouds.
• Documented work experience of GIS work in large investment projects within infrastructure, where support and coordination with internal and external suppliers have been a large part of the assignment. Primarily coordination of input data for permits, land access, and design.
• Work experience from coding, e.g., Python.
• Work experience within project management.
