Your Role

Saab is looking for Senior AI Engineers for our AI and Data initiative. You will work in a high-impact role where you translate advanced AI into business-critical systems. You will become a key player in developing future agentic systems, where autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents collaborate to analyze, decide, and act in complex and dynamic environments. These systems are used in everything from Gripen and advanced sensor systems to autonomous underwater systems and modern command platforms.

You will work in large-scale and safety-critical environments where demands for robustness, real-time capability, and reliability are high.

In this role, you will:

• Develop agent-based AI systems
• Design and implement agent architectures and agentic workflows
• Integrate LLMs and other models into autonomous systems
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, platform teams, and domain experts
• Contribute to architecture, standards, and technical practices
• Act as a mentor and share knowledge within the team

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have extensive experience in building and deploying AI and ML systems and who want to be at the forefront of agentic systems. You are technically secure, have a strong system perspective, and can make well-founded decisions regarding architecture, model selection, and how AI systems interact in larger contexts. You thrive in a role that combines hands-on development with strategic influence and want to help shape the next generation of AI systems.

Qualifications:

• MSc in Computer Science, Technical Physics, AI, or equivalent
• Several years of experience with AI or ML in production environments
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with modern AI frameworks
• Experience with cloud, Kubernetes, and distributed systems
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English

Meritorious:

• Experience with multi-agent systems and agentic workflows
• Experience with generative AI and LLM-based solutions
• Model optimization such as quantization or LoRA
• Reinforcement learning or autonomous systems
• Experience with safety-critical systems

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.

Location: Stockholm or Gothenburg
