Job Description

The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is tasked with receiving adults and young people who have problems with criminality, drug abuse, or other antisocial behavior. In Hässleholm, we receive young people aged 12–15 with higher security classifications. They begin their care period on units that conduct structured assessments of their treatment needs and provide recommendations for further interventions. Young people may then move to treatment units where they work on identified risk areas through individual treatment plans. Our units in Hässleholm are locked, while the unit in Höör (approx. 30 minutes away) is open.

We are now looking for new group leaders for our MBB (Admission and Needs Assessment) units in Hovdala and Vedema. Young people initially arrive at these units upon placement at SiS. This means that in this role, you will meet many different young people with varying backgrounds on a daily basis.

As a group leader, you work actively in the operational care and treatment work on the unit. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading, and distributing the treatment staff in daily work. You act as a role model and promote work that is conducted legally secure and in accordance with current guidelines, methods, and set goals. You keep the unit manager regularly updated on issues that may affect the work environment, care, treatment, or deficiencies in operations. Onboarding and supervision of new employees are also part of your work. You are part of a close-knit team with the unit manager, treatment secretaries, family and network therapists, and treatment coordinators. Each unit has approximately 18 employed treatment assistants and pedagogues who work in shifts of between 4 and 8 people.

Qualifications

  • A relevant university degree of at least 180 credits with a focus on social sciences, care, or behavioral sciences, or other education combined with work experience that SiS considers equivalent.
  • Several years of work experience in SiS or similar operations focusing on care, treatment, and security, such as social services, healthcare, or correctional services.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and oral.
  • Category B driver's license.

Meritorious Qualifications:

  • Previous work in a supervisory role with experience in taking responsibility, leading, and distributing work without being the salary-setting manager.

To thrive and succeed in the role of group leader, you are motivated by working with and helping people in vulnerable life situations. The operational work and interaction with young people are your primary focus. You are good at planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively. You are clear in your communication with others, while also being attentive, affirming, and skilled at building relationships with both young people and colleagues. You have a professional approach, good collaboration skills, and the ability to understand others' perspectives. The work can be challenging and requires you to be stable and maintain calm even in stressful situations. Personal suitability is of great importance to us, and we place great emphasis on your personal qualities during the recruitment process.

With a relevant university degree of at least 180 credits and if deemed appropriate, deputy leadership and readiness for managerial roles may be included in the position.

At SiS, we value good leadership. This means that as a leader, you take responsibility for the whole, act as a good role model, drive development, promote good collaboration, and are clear in your communication. Read more at https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/medarbetarskap-och-ledarskap/

Employment:

Apply for the position by June 11th. Due to upcoming holidays, the process may be delayed.

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Working hours are during the day with a flexible agreement.

Start date by agreement.

With the state as an employer, a number of benefits are included. Read more about these here: https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/formaner/
