About the roleAs a child investigator within the social services, you are responsible for:
- Investigating, assessing, and making decisions in accordance with current legislation such as the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU)
- Conducting qualified investigative work with the child's needs at the center
- Meeting children, young people, and families in a professional, safe, and respectful manner
- Working supportively and motivationally to create participation and conditions for change
- Collaborating with the child's network as well as internal and external actors such as schools, healthcare, and other authorities
- Documenting and processing cases legally securely in accordance with current legislation and guidelines
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in social work or another higher education qualification that the employer deems equivalent
- Has experience in social work, preferably investigative work with children and young people
- Has a good ability to create and maintain professional relationships
- Has a listening, respectful, and validating approach
- Has good self-awareness and the ability to meet children and people in affect, crisis, or conflict with calm and professionalism
- Has the ability to make realistic and well-founded assessments
- Can see the big picture and weigh in multiple perspectives in your work
- Is flexible and can adapt to changed needs and situations
- Thrives in collaboration and contributes to a good work climate
- Is stable and can maintain calm and structure even during periods of high workload
- Has a B driver's license for a manual transmission car
It is an advantage if you have good knowledge of current legislation, regulations, and guidelines within the social services.
