Mobility teams and specialized palliative care, including Advanced Home Healthcare (ASIH) and the palliative care ward, belong to the Department of Close Care and Health. The department was established on January 1, 2025, and comprises approximately 1,200 employees within close care healthcare operations.
The operations offer specialized palliative care to patients of all ages residing in central Scania. The palliative care ward has 16 beds, and ASIH covers approximately 60 beds. Interventions are provided in the patient's home, in specialized housing, and in collaboration with hospitals and primary care.
Work is carried out in multiprofessional teams based at premises on St. Lars väg in Lund. The Palliative Development Centre is organizationally part of the operations and coordinates, among other things, training and clinical research studies.
As a physician in our operations, the operations manager is your direct supervisor. You work in daily patient-facing roles within teams consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and medical secretaries. The operations manager collaborates with unit managers, medical advisors, and medically responsible physicians. Medical advisors are part of a region-wide medical council.

Job Description
As part of the continued development of our operations, we are now seeking a specialist physician for our units in Lund. The catchment area is the Operations Area (VO) Central Scania, comprising eight municipalities. Within the operations, there is rotational service between ASIH, the palliative care ward, and the consultative, advisory, and support functions.
The goal of care is to relieve the patient's symptoms to achieve a good quality of life, taking into account physical, psychological, existential, and social needs, as well as support for relatives. We offer a developing and meaningful job where you become part of a multiprofessional team.
You perform medical interventions on the palliative care ward as well as in the patient's home or specialized housing. In this role, you lead and actively participate in planning the patient's care together with other professions and in collaboration with other healthcare providers. We expect you to actively participate in the development and improvement work of the operations.
According to the operations' mandate, we must be able to perform medical assessments, initiate treatments, and carry out medical-technical interventions around the clock, every day of the year. The position includes on-call and standby service in the operations area's own on-call line.
Palliative medicine is an additional specialty. The unit has a well-established Specialist Training (ST) program, and as a physician, you are expected to undergo ST to achieve specialist competence in palliative medicine as well.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have specialist competence in a clinical specialty that the employer deems relevant for the assignment.
A valid B-driver's license is required, as well as knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale.

This includes, among other things, mobility teams and specialized palliative care, reception operations within close care, acute care within close care, 1177 by phone, and certain region-wide functions. Additionally, the department is responsible for the development and follow-up of the transition to close care in Region Skåne. The number of employees is estimated to be around 1,000.
