Join us in shaping the future as we expand our preventive and security-enhancing social services in Lund!

Do you want to be part of creating a long-term sustainable society with early support for children, young people, and families at the forefront? Then look no further! As part of Lund Municipality's transition towards a more accessible and preventive social service, we work to meet young people at an earlier stage on their own turf. The Outreach Team is an initiative designed to engage young people and their networks at an earlier stage and build trusting relationships. The work is carried out in close collaboration with schools, Culture and Leisure Services, and the field group.

We are now strengthening and expanding the team with two additional employees for a period of two years, subject to necessary approvals.

About the role and your responsibilities

As a social worker in the Outreach Team, you will carry out your duties in the various environments of young people, mostly on the turf of other actors. Working hours will primarily be during the day, but structured and planned work will regularly take place in the evenings and, according to a set schedule, also on weekends. In addition to broad outreach work, the role includes social work at both individual and group levels. Given the preventive nature of the work, motivational work with both young people and their networks will be a significant part of the assignment, as well as building bridges to collaboration partners internally within social services and externally with other key stakeholders.

There will be great opportunities to influence content and working methods together with your manager, colleagues, and existing actors.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you with a degree in social work or another degree combined with working life experience that the employer deems equivalent. Furthermore, we want you to have working life experience in preventive or treatment work with young people and their networks. Additional education in MI (Motivational Interviewing), KSL (Crime as a Lifestyle), SSPF (Collaboration between School, Social Services, Police, and Leisure), FFT (Functional Family Therapy), ABC Teen, or other evidence-based methods relevant to the position is considered an asset.

We imagine you are an engaged person who is good at building relationships with both the target group and other professions and actors. It is important that you have personal maturity and feel confident working in different settings and making decisions based on emerging situations. Flexibility and resilience are additional personal skills required to handle the assignment. The role requires the ability to collaborate smoothly, which is a key part of the job alongside competence in youth culture.

You must have good verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in languages other than Swedish is an asset.

A valid B-class driver's license is required. An extract from the criminal record will be requested.

What we offer you

As an employee, you are offered a range of benefits focused on balance, security, and health. Lund Municipality is a large organization with many exciting operations and opportunities for employee development. As an employee, you also have access to our benefits portal where you can easily view and manage your benefits.

About the workplace

The Outreach Team has been active since August 2024 and is an established actor in schools, meeting places, and with other actors in the area. As a social worker in the Outreach Team, you will work in a team with other colleagues, and together you will face a varied workday with tasks across several different arenas. You will meet and support young people in various aspects of their lives, contribute to developing the operations, and further build collaboration with actors both within and outside the administration.

We are part of the Employment and Social Administration, where approximately 600 employees provide support to residents of Lund who need social services. Together, we ensure that children and young people have the best possible upbringing. We base our work on the entire family's situation and the principle that no one should suffer. This involves supporting adults with harmful substance use, addiction, or mental disabilities, those in need of financial assistance, guardians, administrators, or support for studying or working, as well as refugees.

Here you have room to grow. Within Lund Municipality, we place knowledge at the center and create opportunities for development in working life. We offer an inclusive work environment and the chance to make an impact and create change. Do you want to join us?
