Experienced Nanny Needed – Östermalm, Stockholm

Part-time (2 afternoons/week + occasional evenings)

Our agency is currently recruiting on behalf of a warm, international family originally from Finland who are seeking an experienced, confident, and engaging nanny for their two daughters, aged 3 and 4.

The family currently lives in Gärdet and will be moving to Östermalm in June. They are looking for a stable and long-term presence who can provide both structure and joy in the children’s everyday lives.

The girls attend an international preschool in Swedish and English and previously had an English-speaking nanny. They understand English very well, although they can be slightly shy when speaking. Both children are bright, lively, and full of personality. Being close in age, they share a strong bond, lots of imaginative play, and naturally occasional sibling conflicts. They are affectionate and expressive and benefit from a calm, emotionally intelligent adult who can provide clear and consistent boundaries in a warm way.

The older child already reads and writes independently and has a strong interest in books. The younger enjoys numbers, books, and physical activities. Both girls attend tennis and gymnastics weekly and are learning to play the piano. They enjoy park outings and creative play at home.

Humor and playfulness are highly valued in this family. The ideal nanny understands how to connect through warmth and silliness when appropriate, while remaining a confident adult who can guide routines and expectations with clarity.

The role includes preschool pick-up (walking distance), preparing simple and healthy dinners (such as pasta or fish-based meals), occasional grocery shopping, and managing the evening routine, including bedtime when parents are traveling. On some occasions, the nanny may be asked to stay overnight.

Schedule

• Typically 16:00–20:00 (sometimes later)
• Usually Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays (depending on parental travel)
• Occasionally Friday or Saturday evenings (1–2 times per month)
• Schedule provided approximately 2 weeks in advance
• On average twice per week
• Guaranteed minimum of 32 working hours per month

Salaries are determined individually depending on experience and education and are comparable to preschool teacher salaries in Stockholm. Minimum wage 150 SEK/hour. We can offer higher wages up to 210 SEK/hour for nannies with extensive experience and/or pedagogical education. Fixed monthly salaries occur within certain positions.

• At least three years of experience in professional work with children (certificate/documentation and references required) or equivalent competence?
• An interest in working with children and their development?

Pedagogical education such as preschool teacher, childcare worker, teacher, leisure-time pedagogue, drama pedagogue, etc. is an advantage, as is a driver's license!
