The role of Environmental and Health Protection Inspector is varied and developmental, combining fieldwork in the countryside with office work. You will have the opportunity to take responsibility for your own supervision areas in a project format, while collaborating closely with colleagues and driving your cases forward.

Description of Duties
The work as an Environmental and Health Protection Inspector involves case processing and supervision according to the Environmental Code and related legislation, where you apply the Administrative Procedure Act in both case management and decision-making. You plan, conduct, and follow up on supervisory measures and have independent responsibility for your assigned supervision areas, which largely consist of private sewage systems. The role involves ongoing communication with individuals, business operators, and other stakeholders, as well as drafting decisions, orders, and, if necessary, penalty orders.
The work means that you are responsible for your own cases. In many cases, there are established routines to follow, but you will also play an important role in developing and creating new methods and routines. You also contribute to the overall development of the operations. The role is varied and involves both fieldwork in the countryside and office work. The position requires good teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently and take personal responsibility for your cases. The position can be adapted to some extent based on your qualifications.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university degree in natural sciences or other education that the employer considers relevant for the position. A Category B driver's license is required for the position. Legal competence with good knowledge of the Environmental Code, the Administrative Procedure Act, and lawful authority exercise is considered meritorious. Documented knowledge of private sewage systems, and preferably private water and coastal protection, as well as knowledge of supervision and authority exercise, is also considered meritorious.
You have good teamwork skills and work well with others. You relate to people in a listening and flexible manner, listen actively, and resolve any conflicts in a constructive way. You express yourself clearly, well-formulated, and engaged in both individual meetings and preferably in larger contexts, and you adapt your communication to the situation and the recipient. In your communication, you ensure that the message gets through and that expectations are clear for all parties involved.
You make decisions and act based on them, despite limited information or difficult circumstances. You show judgment under time pressure. As a person, we would like you to be development-oriented but also structured.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment (krigsplacering).
