The Orthopedics Business Area (VO) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) provides both emergency and elective orthopedic care with district and regional responsibilities. The overarching goal of the department is to provide orthopedic care of the highest international standard, achieved through research, development, and education, as well as through internal quality assurance and participation in national registers. Our VO is located in Lund, Malmö, and Trelleborg.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an Attending Physician for the Orthopedics Business Area, Tumor Section.

You will be part of the department's Tumor Section. Your role involves clinical work as well as contributing to and supporting clinical research within the department. The position includes additional responsibilities, such as participation in on-call duties. As the Orthopedics VO operates in multiple locations, travel is part of the job.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. The following qualifications are also required for the position:

• Specialist competence in orthopedics.
• Swedish language skills of at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are mandatory.
• Completed or planned course in clinical supervision.
• Full-time employment for at least five years (documented effective time).
• Several years of service, clinical proficiency, and independence in orthopedics beyond the obtained specialist competence.
• Documented teaching and supervisory merits.
• The position requires that you have defended your doctoral thesis or have been a PhD student for at least two years. You have active ongoing research and have contributed to at least ten published articles.
• Defined area of medical responsibility and knowledge.
• Experience in tumor surgery.

Doctoral defense and/or specialist degree can be credited towards a total of six months of clinical service.

We value your ability to collaborate well with both medical colleagues and other staff categories, as well as your good manner in interactions with patients and relatives.

At a university healthcare unit, physicians are required to have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervising, for example, nursing and medical students, as well as physicians in training, and as a co-supervisor or main supervisor for PhD students. Please clearly describe in your application any completed or planned pedagogical courses, as well as your experience with supervision and teaching at various levels.
