What does the role entail?

Hello! I am a woman born in 1998, currently looking for more assistants to join my team. Today, I live on a small farm just outside Klippan with my parents, but the plan is for me to move out of my parents' home in the near future. I have severe ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and autism. I am looking for you who have a genuine commitment to working with people and who view the assignment long-term. As my assistant, you will find joy in helping and supporting another person in their daily life, and you thrive in a calmer work pace where the focus is on creating quality of life for the person you are working with. My energy levels vary during the day, and I am sensitive to sound and light. Therefore, you need to be attentive and responsive to me and my needs. I need help with all daily tasks, and I appreciate it when we eat together.

It is important that you are not allergic to or afraid of fur-bearing animals, as I have cats at home and meet a therapy dog every week. I love animals, and they bring me great joy. Experience with my diagnoses and/or personal assistance is advantageous, but the most important thing is that we get along. I also require that you have a driver's license, are fluent in Swedish (both spoken and written), and can read without difficulty, as one of the tasks will involve reading aloud. If you have an interest in animals, that is a big plus. It is important to me that you are flexible and adaptable, as well as smoke- and snuff-free.

We are looking for someone who can work approximately 50%. The working hours vary, but we would prefer that you can work days, evenings, and nights (with sleeping on-call), both on weekdays and weekends, and we view this position as a long-term commitment.

Requirements

• Fluent in Swedish (spoken, reading comprehension, and written), including reading aloud.
• Smoke-free and snuff-free.
• Not allergic to or afraid of fur-bearing animals.
• Hold a B-driver's license and have access to a car to commute to work.

Advantageous if you have

• Experience working as a personal assistant or within healthcare and social care.
• An interest in animals.
• Knowledge of low-arousal approach (low-affective handling).

Scope: Part-time approx. 50%. Number of positions: 2. Start date: According to agreement. Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, and the positions will be filled as soon as possible. Salary: We apply individual salary setting. Other benefits in accordance with the collective agreement.

The Recruitment Process

Upon Employment

To be employed by us at Nordström Assistans, you must have a BankID and agree to use your BankID in the role. A prerequisite for starting employment with us is that you, as the applicant, can present a valid ID document as well as a valid certificate of personal data (personbevis) and/or any documents proving the right to work in Sweden. You can easily download the certificate of personal data from the Swedish Tax Agency's website. Due to the fact that the position may involve solo work, night work, and tasks that according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations (AFS 2012:3) cannot be performed by minors, you must be at least 18 years old to work as a personal assistant with us.

If you are to work with this client, you are required to present an extract from the criminal record register. From March 1, 2026, new regulations will apply, meaning that the register check will include both extracts from the criminal record register and extracts from the suspicion register. The extract is ordered via the Police Authority's e-service. Note that processing times may vary, so the order should be placed in good time.
