Singing Teachers

for the school's music programs

For the academic year 2026/27, we are seeking singing teachers: two positions that can be applied for individually or in combination.

Singing Teacher for the Musical Theatre Line (approx. 50% of full-time)

This position is a temporary assignment during the academic year 2026/27, as the regular teacher is on leave.

The role includes teaching singing, primarily on the school's musical theatre line but also on other music programs. Additional teaching in other subjects may be offered depending on the applicant's profile and preferences. We are looking for a teacher with a singing education (musician and/or music pedagogy degree) from a university college of music, with broad experience in teaching at a relevant level. The position is permanent.

Singing Teacher (Rock/Jazz Focus) (approx. 60% of full-time)

This position is a temporary assignment during the academic year 2026/27, as the regular teacher is on leave. The role includes teaching singing (rock/jazz focus) on the school's music programs. Additional teaching in other subjects may be offered depending on the applicant's profile and preferences. We are looking for a teacher with a singing education (musician and/or music pedagogy degree) from a university college of music, with broad experience in teaching at a relevant level. Knowledge of CVT and Estill methods is advantageous but not a requirement.

Geijerskolan is a folk high school located in Ransäter, approximately 5 miles north of Karlstad. The school's music programs have approximately 110 students distributed across the Jazz Line, Nordic Rock Music Line, Music Line, Musical Theatre Line, and Church Music Program. Approximately 25 of the school's teachers teach on the music programs. In addition to music programs, the school offers a general line, a painting line, and a large number of short courses.
