Job Responsibilities

As a summer substitute within the activities of the Disability Support department, you will support people with various types of disabilities and in different forms of activities:

Group Housing

In a group housing facility within Disability Support, people with various physical and/or mental disabilities live. Those living here have a greater need for support and services, and there is staff on duty 24/7 at the group housing. You, working here, are the users' extended arm in everyday life, with the goal that they can live and reside as similarly to other people as possible.

Group Housing with a focus on Social Psychiatry

In group housing facilities with a focus on social psychiatry, people live who need access to help around the clock. This may be due to, for example, substance abuse issues and/or mental illness. In these group housing facilities, you work to support the users, with the goal that they can live and reside as similarly to other people as possible.

Personal Assistance

Personal assistants work at the user's home and where the user moves in their daily life. The workday is adapted to the user's needs and wishes, which means that the work as a personal assistant looks different for different users.

Children and Youth Activities

Here, children and young people with physical and/or mental disabilities spend their time. Working hours may vary as the activities are conducted throughout the day and night.

Day Activities

Day activities are an occupation adapted to the participants' individual needs. Participants receive support with meaningful activities for stimulation, development, and community.

General Job Tasks

As a summer substitute within Disability Support, no two days are alike! The work is adapted to the person needing support. The users' daily condition, wishes, and abilities vary, which makes the work varied as well.

Examples of job tasks: provide support in various moments of the users' daily lives, such as personal hygiene, nursing, cooking, household activities, social interaction, leisure activities, administering medication, motivating, and communicating.

Working Hours: Working hours vary within Disability Support. There are day, evening, night, on-call duties, and work on weekdays as well as weekends. Independent work occurs.

Qualifications

Personal Attributes

You are good with people, enjoy collaborating, and getting things done. You are communicative, take responsibility, and ensure that the whole works. We use digital tools as a natural part of our work, so you need to feel comfortable using mobile phones, computers, and other digital technology as work tools.

Education

Nursing education, psychiatric education, child and youth care, or other relevant education is meritorious, but we are also looking for you who do not have any formal education.

Experience

Experience in similar work is meritorious, as is experience with low-affective handling, autism, psychiatry, pedagogical work, or other care and support. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Language

In order for instructions and documentation to be carried out in a safe and understandable manner, you need to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Age

You must have turned 18 to work a summer job with us.

Other

To be employed within Health in Ängelholm Municipality, one must present an extract from the police record, of the type Work in the home with elderly and persons with disabilities, or if you are to work with children within Disability Support, an extract of the type: Extract for work with children according to LSS.

You order this via the Swedish Police Authority's e-service for record extracts. The record extract must not be more than 1 month old from the date of issue.
