Your role with us

We are looking for two social workers with a focus on crime prevention. The new social workers will be part of the Child and Youth Service within the preventive work operations under the Employment and Welfare Administration in Kristianstad Municipality.

We know that a successful school career is one of the strongest protective factors against falling into social problems. We also know that there are certain groups in society that are more vulnerable to falling into crime and social exclusion.

These two new positions will have different focuses. On one hand, it involves working together with schools to increase attendance for students who have experienced significant school absenteeism. Other areas involve identifying groups of individuals who are more vulnerable to falling into crime. Once these groups are identified, the task is to work preventively to reduce the likelihood of them becoming involved in criminal activity.

Since these are two entirely new positions, you as a social worker will have great opportunities to influence the content. We are a flexible operation, which means that the content of the role may vary over time in the crime prevention work.

Outreach work and collaboration with, for example, schools, will be an important part of your job.

The work is primarily carried out during daytime hours, although work may occasionally take place in the evenings.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is flexible, curious, and creative. You have the ability to create and maintain relationships both externally and internally. The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, as well as the ability to adapt yourself and your approach to meet the needs of other people, are qualities required for the role. Since the right personal qualities are important for success in the assignment, great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

You have a degree in social work or another university degree that the employer finds suitable, and we would appreciate it if you had experience of social work within the social services sector. Since communication and documentation are a large part of your work, you need to be able to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You must have a Category B driver's license for a manual transmission to easily travel to various locations within the municipality.

When an applicant is offered employment, anyone who in their work comes into direct and regular contact with children must produce an extract from the police criminal record according to the provisions in 2013:852 of the Social Services Act.
