Do you want to help build a social work where the child's best interest truly drives the process?
We are embarking on an important development journey and are now looking for dedicated Child Social Secretaries and Foster Care Secretaries who want to help create a foster care unit where no child and no assignment falls through the cracks. We want to ensure that every child's rights according to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child are met, and that the child's best interest always forms the basis for decisions, interventions, and follow-up. This requires courage, structure, collaboration – and employees who want to make a real difference.
What we aim to achieve
We want to build a working method where:
- The right function performs the right tasks at the right time in close teamwork, both within our unit and together with colleagues in assessment and treatment.
- The Child Social Secretary and Foster Care Secretary work closely in teams with clear assignments.
- The work is clear, active, and cohesive.
- Children, foster homes, and parents meet a social services agency that is safe, predictable, and present.
- Foster homes are part of a structured support and collaboration hub (UNIT-mentor), inspired by the Mockingbird model.
Through close collaboration with children and families, we create long-term solutions and relationships that last over time. We reduce the number of contacts around each child, free up time by reducing duplicate work, and strengthen quality through clear follow-up.
The child's future in focus
We actively work to strengthen parents in their parenting skills and enable reunification when it is possible and deemed in the child's best interest. Our goal is that children who can move home are also given the conditions to do so – within two years. To assist us, we have a newly launched Stella reception that provides advice and support to the children's parents. We also have a team called SUIT, consisting of employees from various parts, who work together with children and families where there is high concern and risk of placement, and who can also be part of a home-return process.
When reunification is not possible, we take responsibility for ensuring the child receives a safe and stable placement, where bonds to origin, network, and identity are preserved. In the long term, our work should give the child the best possible conditions to grow up into an independent, secure, and well-functioning adult.
We are looking for you who
- have a degree in Social Work (Social Work).
- feel confident in conversations with children and have an easy time creating professional and trusting relationships.
- work in a structured and legally secure manner with documentation and follow-up.
- appreciate work that takes place partly outside the office and have a B-driver's license.
Meritorious is experience of:
- authority exercise within social services, work with foster care, recruitment, and supervision.
- BBIC, Signs of Safety, A lasting relationship, or similar structured working methods.
You want to work in a structured and relationship-oriented manner, believe in collaboration, and see the value of clear working methods. Above all, you want to help create a social work where the child's best interest is not just words – but action.
Welcome to become part of our journey. Together we create security, quality, and hope for the future for children.
