Operational Technical Leader responsible for structure and long-term product development.

Miraya has developed advanced analysis methods and tools for the defense sector since 2007. The company is in a phase where the technology needs to transition from well-functioning, project-based solutions to more cohesive and long-term managed products. For this, we are now looking for a CTO with clear technical leadership and strong operational presence. At Miraya, you will become part of a small and competent team where engineering-driven development work is at the center, and where you together develop advanced technical systems that strengthen Sweden's and NATO's defense capabilities.

CTO at Miraya

As CTO, you have overall responsibility for the company's technical direction, architecture, and product development. You are expected to participate in the development work, make technical decisions, and create structure in how the systems are built, further developed, and managed over time. You work closely with the founder, developers, and analysts, where responsibility, dialogue, and technical quality are central.

This is a role for you who wants to build, not just set the direction. The role is new at Miraya, and you will have the opportunity to shape it as the company and team grow.

The work involves, among other things:

• Take responsibility for technical architecture, system design, and technical choices

• Contribute operationally to development and troubleshooting

• Structure product development as the company moves towards more long-term deliveries

• Ensure quality and reusability in code and systems

• Act as a technical reference internally and externally, and participate in customer meetings and business travel as needed

• Gradually develop working methods that support a growing team

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who have a solid technical background and are comfortable taking responsibility for the whole picture without letting go of the practical work. You thrive in smaller organizations where you need to combine technical depth with judgment and structure.

To succeed in the role, you need:

• A Master of Science degree in Technical Physics, IT, or equivalent

• At least five years of technical experience with technical leadership and main responsibility in development projects or products

• Good understanding of SQL, MongoDB, Python, Node.js, and web technologies

• Experience with UNIX-based systems such as Linux or macOS

• Experience working with sensitive data

It is a plus if you have:

• Experience from smaller companies or resource-constrained environments

• Experience with sensor data

As a person, you are curious, unpretentious, and responsible. You are analytical, communicative, and used to working closely with both technology and business. Previous experience from security-classified operations or the defense sector is meritorious but not a requirement.

Technical Environment

Miraya's systems are built for analysis, visualization, and management in environments with high demands for robustness and data protection.

• Backend: Node.js, Python, FileMaker, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, REST API

• Frontend: JavaScript and Vue with libraries such as CesiumJS, Highcharts, and DataTables

• Offline solutions and handling of sensitive data

• Large streaming data sets from sensors, command systems, and technical platforms

Miraya is a profitable specialist company with high-tech competence and short decision-making paths. The team currently consists of seven people, and the company offers great scope to influence technology, working methods, and continued development.

• Our office is centrally located in Stockholm; work is primarily on-site.

• The customers are primarily within the defense sector; the work involves close collaboration with the customer and may include participation in exercise and testing activities.

• Miraya is part of the NATO cooperation with a growing international market; travel occurs in international contexts.

• Swedish citizenship is a requirement. A security clearance check will be conducted prior to employment.
