As the current employee is starting studies, we are now looking for a replacement for a one-year temporary position, with good opportunities for extension. Pediatric care at Sus is divided into two areas of operation (VO), pediatric surgery/neonatal care and pediatric medicine. The VO pediatric surgery/neonatal care has approximately 600 employees with activities within pediatric surgery, pediatric heart care, pediatric surgery, pediatric and youth intensive care, and neonatal care.

Sus is one of two hospitals in Sweden that provides national care/nationally highly specialized care in pediatric heart surgery, which means that patients from large parts of the country come to us at the Children's Heart Center. We also receive patients from Iceland. We have a genuine pride in having the opportunity to help these children and meet them based on their individual needs. Often we get to follow the children for a longer period, from the time the heart defect is discovered until they transition to adult healthcare. The Children's Heart Center includes an inpatient ward, day care operations, fetal heart clinic, and pediatric heart clinic. The activity also conducts research within medicine and nursing science.

DUTIES

In the role of a nurse at the pediatric heart clinic in Malmö, you are responsible for the care of children and adolescents who come for investigation, treatment, and follow-up of heart disease. Common examinations with us are ultrasound of the heart, ECG, and blood pressure. At the clinic in Malmö, you work as the sole nurse in close collaboration with a pediatric nurse assistant and a pediatric cardiologist, with constant collaboration and support from colleagues in Lund. As a Pediatric Nurse at the clinic, you are also responsible for the follow-up program and become the Contact Nurse for the children in the follow-up program in Malmö.

We have joint weekly care meetings and APT once a month. The work is mainly at the clinic in Malmö, but some weeks of the year the work may be located at the clinic in Lund. Duty on weekends and evenings may also occur. The tasks cover a large area with several specific diagnoses within pediatric heart care, which means you have the opportunity to develop competence in many different areas.

At the clinic in Lund, pediatric nurses and pediatric nurses work. In addition to the employees working with reception and day care work, there are specialist nurses working within specialized areas such as transplantation, heart catheterization/biopsies, fetal activity, the transfer program, as well as contact nurses and research nurses.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who have a genuine interest in pediatric care. In addition, we wish that you are a person with an open approach, which means that you see opportunities before difficulties. Furthermore, you enjoy collaborating, are receptive, patient, and share your knowledge in teamwork. Your way of working is characterized by lack of hierarchy and flexibility when the situation requires it. We also wish that you are development-oriented, curious, and engaged and creative in problem-solving. Great importance will be attached to good cooperation skills and personal suitability.

Regarding the formal requirements, you are educated as a nurse or alternatively a pediatric nurse. Language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. It is meritorious if you have studied further as a pediatric nurse, or alternatively worked in pediatric care for several years. If you have worked in pediatric heart care or at a clinic, this is also meritorious. Knowledge of Melior and PASiS is desirable.
