Säbyholm Montessori School is located in an idyllic cultural environment at Säbyholm Manor in northern Landskrona. Our operations include both preschool and primary/lower secondary school (grades F-9) with an after-school center. With approximately 250 students, we place the individual and their development at the center. Our guiding principles are freedom, responsibility, consideration, and self-confidence, which we realize through Montessori pedagogy as our guiding star and primary tool.
We are now looking for an engaged and relationship-building school counselor who wants to be an important part of our student health work. You will contribute to ensuring our students feel good, safe, and successful in school.
About the position
As a school counselor, you will be part of the school's student health team, working alongside the principal, special education teacher, school nurse, and other professionals within student health services. Your role is primarily promotional and preventive, focusing on students' psychosocial health at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contributing to the school's safety and values-based work.
- Conducting supportive conversations with students.
- Collaborating with guardians and external actors, such as social services and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP).
- Mentoring and supporting staff on psychosocial matters.
- Participating in work regarding school attendance and early interventions.
- Contributing psychosocial competence to the student health team's work.
- Supporting the school's efforts regarding safety, well-being, and equal treatment.
- Working preventively and health-promotingly with student groups and classes.
We offer meaningful and developmental work in an environment where student health is seen as the responsibility of the entire school and where collaboration between professions is a given.
The position is 70% and is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period. Start date is in August.
We are looking for you who
- Are trained as a social worker (socionom).
- Have experience working with children and young people, preferably in a school setting.
- Have good knowledge of the school's mission and student health work.
- Are confident in your professional role and have the ability to work independently.
- Have a relationship-building and solution-focused approach to work.
- Have good collaboration skills and are adept at building trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
- Express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Please send your application, including a cover letter and CV, to Principal Pontus Asperheim at pontus.asperheim(at)sabyholm.nu. Selection is made on an ongoing basis. If you have questions or are interested in learning more, you are welcome to contact Pontus Asperheim by phone at 0709-671 151.
