Who will you work with?

We are looking for a fantastic assistant with a big heart for our charming and social 3-year-old daughter. She is a curious girl who loves to play, train, and discover life together with family and friends. She was born with a genetic mutation that means she needs extra support in life from you. Our daughter lives with us, her parents and sisters, in Stråvalla, in northern Varberg.

We are looking for you who can be a secure support in our girl's daily life. You will help her develop her very own and unique way of communicating and expressing moods with her body, her various facial expressions, and her fantastic ability to shape sounds. She constantly finds new ways to communicate with her surroundings. This requires you to be sensitive to her signals, interpret them, and convey her needs to friends and the environment.

You will have active supervision when you are together, both indoors and outdoors. You will handle various tasks related to her basic needs, such as tube feeding, medication, and her daily hygiene.

You need to have good physical fitness and be mobile as you are involved in the girl's daily training, which is performed on a soft mat. You will carry her during certain transfers and push her in a stroller to and from preschool and various activities.

We are keen that you get a good start with an introduction from both us, the parents, and the current assistant.

Scope of the position

Since our girl has just been granted assistance, we are building a completely new group of assistants. The preliminary plan is that you will shadow the current assistant during the middle/later part of the summer to be able to work independently from the beginning of September.

The shifts are primarily scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and weekends. However, she needs some assistance during daytime at preschool as well. The scope will be between 50-70%. Shifts can, for example, be scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays as well as some Saturdays and Sundays. We would like you to be flexible, able to step in extra when needed, and enjoy being part of building something new!

Who are you applying as?

We are looking for you who:

• Find it easy to take initiative for activities and gladly read, play, and brighten the days for our girl.
• Are sensitive and have an ability to see opportunities.
• Are secure, careful, and communicative.
• Are physically strong and mobile due to the nature of the tasks.
• Have experience with tube feeding, some handling of medication, and care of young children.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish (spoken and written).
• Are a non-smoker.
• Are a competent swimmer (pool/ocean).

It is also meritorious if you:

• Have experience with alternative communication (AAC, eye-controlled computer, Podd, Vocochat).
• Have knowledge within healthcare, e.g., assistant nurse, nurse, physiotherapist, or similar.
• Have a driver's license (automatic transmission).
