We are looking for an experienced designer who can take on the role of designer for our mechanical systems. These systems include HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and auxiliary systems. Do you want to make a real difference? Your Role

The HVAC & Auxiliary Systems section is responsible for heating, ventilation, fire protection, and all water-based systems on board. You will be part of a group with deep competence, great engagement, and a desire to move forward. We offer exciting and varied work with marine platforms such as surface combatants, mine countermeasures, and world-class staff and logistics ships. We also place great emphasis on maintaining a good balance between work and leisure.

As a designer with us, you will be part of a team working with design, calculations, and analyses. The tasks involve working from concept to product documentation. You will work both independently and in a team, and must interact cross-functionally in projects with other design departments, production, and procurement in a creative and constructive manner. The position involves both internal and external contacts. The work is performed in Aveva E3D.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Create, develop, and maintain 3D models in AVEVA E3D for the Navy's various platforms and their systems. Ensure that all requirements for safety, redundancy, performance, reliability, and maintainability are met.
• Coordination: Lead and coordinate the design team, distribute tasks, and follow up on deliveries.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicate with system engineers, technicians, suppliers, customer representatives, and project managers.
• Quality & Regulations: Ensure that the design follows customer specifications, classification rules, and legal requirements.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and enhancements in workflows.
• Knowledge Development: Stay up to date with new technology and industry trends; suggest training needs for yourself and the team.

Your Profile

Qualifications

• Several years of work experience in design.
• Education in product development, marine technology, or mechanical engineering.
• Understanding of the interaction between mechanics, electrical systems, hydrodynamics, and system integration.
• Previous experience working in smaller CAD teams.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Advantageous Qualifications

• Experience working with marine platforms and systems.
• Knowledge of other CAD tools and software.
• Experience in project management and handling complex projects.
• Knowledge in automation and digitalization of design processes.
• Experience working with international standards and regulations.
• Knowledge in energy efficiency and sustainable design.
• Knowledge in shipbuilding/ship design (advantageous).
• Advanced knowledge of AVEVA E3D.

The location is Karlskrona. Business travel occurs, and a driver's license is required.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
