Development Manager for Child and Education Administration in Nässjö

We at the Child and Education Administration are now looking for an engaged and structured Development Manager.

We are passionate about laying the foundation for the lifelong learning of children and students, and your competence is an important part of this work. You will belong to the central quality and development department, which supports the operations in various ways in quality work. Your workplace is at City Hall, but you will also meet with principals and educators at our preschools and schools.

The Child and Education Administration in Nässjö has 14 primary schools, special needs primary schools, resource schools, and emergency schools, as well as 24 preschools. The operations include 5,500 children and students and 1,000 employees.

Responsibilities

In the role of Development Manager, you will drive the systematic quality work for the entire Child and Education Administration. A key focus of the position is to stay updated on research within school development, and you will serve as a support for the operations in transforming theory into practice. You will work closely with the operations and support the principals in pedagogical leadership. The role of Development Manager also includes:

  • Conducting situation analyses, investigations, follow-ups, and evaluations.
  • Mentoring principals in development and quality issues.
  • Driving, coordinating, and supporting various development processes together with different professions, with the aim of increasing goal fulfillment.
  • Monitoring the external environment and highlighting research and news for preschools and schools.
  • Supporting principals in responses to various authorities, such as the Swedish Schools Inspectorate.

As a Development Manager, you will also support the municipality's career teachers. A recent evaluation shows that Nässjö's career teachers find their assignments exciting, challenging, and interesting, and they view participation in pedagogical development as an advantage. Your task will be to maintain this good work while also developing it as new needs arise.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree with a relevant focus. You are knowledgeable in pedagogical matters and have several years of experience working with school development. You have good knowledge of school governance and regulations.

Aside from your knowledge and experience, personal suitability is of course important. In your role, you will work closely with school leaders and operational managers. It is natural for you to collaborate closely with other professions in a non-hierarchical manner. At the same time, the position requires you to work independently in a structured manner.

An important part of your assignment is to transform theory into practice in a simple and pedagogical way. Therefore, we have high demands on communication skills in both speech and writing. As a Development Manager with us, you need to have a strategic approach and the ability to see the entire operation.
